Printer Set Up Procedure

Use the following procedure to set up the printer.

1Select a suitable location for your printer.

For details, see Place to Install.

2Verify the items that come with the printer.

For details, see Checking the Contents of the Box.

3Take the printer out of its box, and then remove the protective materials and adhesive tape.

For details, see Removing the Packaging Materials.

4Install the toner (print cartridge) in the printer.

For details, see Installing the Toner (Print Cartridge).

5Load paper in the standard paper feed tray.

6Turn the printer power on.

For details, see Turning the Printer's Power On and Off.

7Select the language used on the display.

For details, see Selecting the Display Language.

8Print a test page.

For details, see Test Printing.

9Connect the printer to your network.

10Configure the printer’s network settings.

11If you are using a Type 2 model, install the ELP-NX card.

For details, see Installing the ELP-NX Card.

12Install the printer driver.
