Printer Settings

This section shows the list of setting items in [] [Printer settings].

Screen Configuration of the [Settings] Hub

Setting item

Description

Installed Options List

Displays the list of options installed on the machine.

In/Output Tray Priority

When the source and output trays are not specified in the job (including when Auto Tray Select is specified), specify the source and output trays.

  • Default (Input Tray Priority): [Tray 1]

  • Default (Output Tray Priority): [Left Tray]

Settings of Output Tray

Specify the settings for the output tray when using Finisher Shift Tray or Stacker.

Available setting items vary depending on the machine configuration.

Unlimited paper output

Specify whether to switch output trays when an output tray becomes full.

  • Default: [Disable]

Settings when the output tray is full

Specify the order of the trays to switch to when Unlimited paper output.

When [Output priority] is specified, an empty tray is given priority as the output destination. When [Order priority] is specified, paper is output to each tray in a fixed order.

  • Default: [Output priority]

Stack jobs

Specify whether to stack the output sheets when performing multiple jobs.

  • Default (Shift Tray): [Stack Jobs]

  • Default (Stacker): [Stack jobs (One size only)]

Adjust Fold Position

Specify the width to fold on the fold unit by paper size. (only when the fold unit is attached).

Z-fold Position

Specify the folding position in 1-mm increments when Z-fold is specified.

  • Default: [3 mm]

Half Fold Position

Specify the folding position in 1-mm increments when Half fold is specified.

  • Default: [0 mm]

Letter Fold-out Position 1 / Letter Fold-out Position 2

Specify the folding position in 1-mm increments when Letter Fold-out is specified. You can specify the folding position when single or multi-sheet fold is specified.

  • Default: [4.5 mm] / [143 mm]

Letter Fold-in Position 1 / Letter Fold-in Position 2

Specify the folding position in 1-mm increments when Letter Fold-in is specified. You can specify the folding position when single or multi-sheet fold is specified.

  • Default: [6 mm] / [143 mm]

Print Cartridge Unlock Settings

On the control panel, unlock the toner bottle, and specify whether to activate the operation that manages the remaining amount of toner.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Perfect Binder Settings

Specify the Binding Glue Heater Auto Off Timer and the cut size.

  • Default: [30 minutes]/[0mm]

Manage Custm Papr Sizes

You can register, edit, or delete a paper size that is not in the list of paper sizes as a custom size.

Unit Display Switching

Specify the units of paper dimensions and temperature to be displayed on the control panel.

Measurement Unit

Select mm or inches.

  • Default: [mm]

Temperature Unit

Select Celsius or Fahrenheit.

  • Default: [Celsius (°C)]

Manage Settings Display

You can manage how each function or menu is displayed on the control panel.

Display IP Address/Host Name

Specify whether to display the IP address and host name of the machine on the navigation bar.

  • Default: [Off]

Date & Time Settings

Time Zone

Specify the standard time in the region where the machine is used.

Time server

Specify the time server. The date and time are set correctly on the machine when the time server is specified.

When you enable the time server, specify the address of the time server.

Default: [Disable]

Date & Time

Specify the year, month, day, and time on the system clock of the machine.

Setting of Parts Maintenance Task Start Time

Manually set the start time of a PM task to a time earlier than the time that is registered automatically based on the projected lifetime.

Specify a time between 0:00 A.M. and 11:30 P.M. in 30-minute increments.

  • Default: [08:00]

Energy Saver Settings (1/2)

Specify the energy saving function on the machine.

Energy Saver Key to Change Mode

Specify whether to enter the Sleep mode or Low Power mode when the Energy Saver key is pressed.

  • Default: [Sleep Mode]

Low Power Mode Entry

The operation of the Energy Saving mode can be specified to "Standby for Printing Priority", "Energy Saving Priority", or "Off".

  • Default: [Standby for Printing Priority]

When enabled, also specify the amount of time before entering the Low Power mode in "Low Power Mode Timer" (minute(s)). When specifying "Energy Saving Priority", also specify "Low Power Mode Timer" (second(s)).

  • Default:

    In "Standby for Printing Priority": [15 minute(s)]

    In "Energy Saving Priority": [0 minute(s)] / [10 second(s)]

Sleep Mode Entry

Specify whether to enter the Sleep mode, and specify the amount of time before entering the Sleep mode in "Sleep Mode Timer" when On is specified.

  • Default: [On] / [60 minute(s)]

Energy Saver Settings (2/2)

STR Mode Entry

Specify whether to enter STR Mode, in which the machine consumes less power.

  • Default: [On]

Exit Energy Saver Mode

Specify the condition in which to exit the Energy Saver mode from "On Printing" or "On Operating Control Panel".

  • Default: [On Printing]

Auto Shutdown When No Operation

Specify the setting for shutting down the machine and turning off its main power automatically when no operation is performed for a certain period of time.

  • Default: [Off]

When specifying "On", also specify "Duration of No Operation Until Shutdown Warning is Displayed" and "Duration Shutdown Warning Is Displayed Until Power Off".

  • Default:

    "Duration of No Operation Until Shutdown Warning is Displayed": [120 minute(s)]

    "Duration Shutdown Warning Is Displayed Until Power Off": [180 minute(s)]

Weekly Timer

You can specify the time the machine turns on or off automatically, or the duration after which it enters the sleep mode, every day or on each day of the week.

You can also specify how many minutes before the time to start using the machine to turn its power on. Refer to "Startup Time History" and "Average Startup Time:", and configure the setting accordingly.

  • Default: [Inactive] / [30 min.]

Network settings

Host Name

Specify the Host name of the machine.

Domain Name Settings

  • Default: [Auto-Obtain (DHCP)]

Domain Name

When you select [Specify] in [Domain Name Settings], enter the domain name using up to 63 characters. (You can use periods "." and hyphens "-".)

IPv4

Specify the IPv4 address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server to use on the machine.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Connecting to the Network

IPv6

Specify the IPv6 address, default gateway, and DNS server to use on the machine.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Connecting to the Network

DDNS Settings

Specify whether to enable or disable the dynamic DNS setting.

  • Default: [On]

Proxy Settings

Specify the proxy server to be used for communication with the external network.

To use a proxy server, enter the host name or IP address of the proxy server using up to 39 characters.

  • Default: [Off]

DFE Remote Desktop Connection Settings

Specify the user name and password to be used for DFE Remote Connection.

Enter the user name and password using up to 255 characters each in UTF-8 (single- and double-byte spaces cannot be used).

Notification Sound

Specify the volume and sound type of the notification sounds used to notify the user.

The sound type can be specified for the ready sound, alert sound, and error sound.

External Keyboard Settings

Specify the keyboard layout of the external keyboard.

  • Default: [English QWERTY]

Inquiry

Displays the machine number and the list of contact information.

Depending on the role of the logged-in user, the information can be edited.

  • [Machine Repairs: Phone Number], [Sales Representative: Phone Number], [Supplies Order: Phone Number]: Up to 20 characters can be entered.

  • [Machine Repairs: Email], [Sales Representative: Email], [Supplies Order: Email]: Up to 128 characters can be entered.

  • [Supplies Order: URL]: Up to 256 characters can be entered.

  • [Supplies Order: FAX Number]: Up to 20 characters can be entered.

Clear Settings

Press this to initialize the various setting items, or erase all the memory.

Counter

Shows the number of sheets that has been printed on the machine.

Displays or prints the number of sheets printed in color, in black and white, and in Fifth Station colors.

Administrator Counter

Shows the number of sheets printed under more detailed conditions, such as single color, two-color, duplex printing, and Fifth Station colors. This counter is for the administrator. It also allows you to print the breakdown of the print details and list of counters.
