Setting Items

Description

Auto Color Select Sensitivity Level

When specifying [Auto Color Select] in [Send Settings] on the scanner screen, adjust the threshold value for identifying originals to be in black and white or color from five levels.

  • Default: (the level in the center among five levels)

Background Density of ADS (Full Color)

Specify the degree of removing the background color from five levels when scanning a magazine or newspaper and removing the background color.

  • Default: (the level in the center among five levels)

Size/Reduce/Enlarge

Setting Items

Description

Program/Edit/Delete Scan Size

Register, change, or delete the size displayed in [Send Settings][Scan Size][Programmed Size] on the scanner screen. You can register up to five settings.

Scan Ratio Setting

Specify the scaling ratio displayed in [Send Settings][Scan Ratio] on the scanner screen. You can specify a ratio between 25-400%.

Mixed Sizes Mode

Select whether to scan sheets of the same width or mixed sheets of different widths.

  • Default: [Same Width Originals]

Blank Page Detection

Description

Blank Page Detection

Specify the setting to display a warning message and cancel scanning when the first page scanned in an original is blank. This setting is only valid when placing the original in the ADF.

  • Default: [On]

Blank Page Detection Level

Specify the sensitivity to detect a blank page.

  • Default: (the level in the center among seven levels)

OCR Scanned PDF: Blank Page Sensitivity

Specify the level of detecting blank pages when creating a text embedded PDF from five levels. In Sensitivity Level 1, only a page that is completely white is detected as blank. In Sensitivity Level 5, a page is detected as blank even when some smears or dust appear on the page.

  • Default: (Sensitivity Level 2)

Description

Wait Time for Next Original(s): Exposure Glass

Specify the time to wait after scanning a page before starting scanning of the next page when scanning an original with multiple pages on the exposure glass and sending the scanned images together.

  • Continuous Wait

    The machine waits for the next original to be placed until you press [Scanning finished]. No time limit is imposed.

  • Off

    Transmission starts automatically after scanning a single page in an original.

  • Set Wait Time

    Specify the time to wait for the next original to be placed (3-999 seconds) in [Wait Time for Next Original(s)]. Transmission starts automatically after the specified time elapses.

    The machine pauses counting down of the waiting time and waits until [Scanning finished.] is pressed in the following cases:

    • When you change the scan condition or other setting

    • When you open the upper cover of the ADF

    • When you press [Interrupt mode] and perform copying operation

    • When a paper jam occurs

  • Default: [Set Wait Time]: 60 second(s)

This setting becomes invalid when [SADF] or [Batch] is selected in [Send Settings] on the scanner screen.

Combining the Data of Multiple Scans into a Single File

Wait Time for Next Original(s): SADF

Specify the time to wait after scanning a stack of a multi-page original before starting scanning of the next stack when scanning an original with multiple pages in the ADF and sending the scanned images together.

  • Continuous Wait

    The machine waits for the next original to be placed until you press [Scanning finished.]. No time limit is imposed.

  • Set Wait Time

    Specify the time to wait for the next original to be placed (3-999 seconds) in [Wait Time for Next Original(s)]. Transmission starts automatically after the specified time elapses.

    The machine pauses counting down of the waiting time and waits until [Scanning finished.] is pressed in the following cases:

    • When you change the scan condition or other setting

Combining the Data of Multiple Scans into a Single File

PC Scan Command Standby Time

Select whether to accept the instruction to perform scanning that is sent from a computer when a user is performing operation in the scanner function on the control panel.

  • On

    The machine does not accept the instruction to perform scanning from a computer until the time specified in [Standby Time] (3-30 seconds) elapses after an operation on the control panel has finished.

  • Off

    The machine accepts the instruction to perform scanning from a computer even when a user is performing operation in the scanner function on the control panel.

  • Default: [On]: 10 seconds
