Administrator Tools

This describes the parameters that can be set on [Administrator Tools].

Address Book Management

You can add, change or delete information registered in the Address Book.

For details, see Address Book.

  • Program/Change

    You can register and change names.

    • Name

      You can register a name, registration number, and title selection.

    • Reg. No.

    • Auth. Info

      You can register user names and passwords to be used when sending e-mail or sending files to folders.

    • Fax Settings

      You can register a fax number.

    • E-mail Settings

      You can register e-mail address.

    • Folder Info

      You can register the protocol, path, port number, and server name.

  • Delete

    You can delete a name from the Address Book.

Address Book:Print List

You can print the destination list registered in the Address Book.

Prog/Chnge/Del LDAP Server

By registering the LDAP server, you can search the LDAP server's address book for an recipient's email address when sending files by e-mail using the scanner function.

To start an LDAP search, make sure that the items listed below are set. For other items, check your environment and make any necessary changes.

This function supports LDAP Version 2.0 and 3.0.

To use the LDAP server, select [On] under [LDAP Search].

LDAP Search

Specify whether or not to use the LDAP server for searching.

Default: [Off].

If you select [Off], LDAP server list will not appear on the searching display.

Service Test Call

You can make a test call to the @Remote center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Notify Machine Status] or [Remote Diagnostics] is in use.

Notify Machine Status

You can make a test call to the @Remote center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Notify Machine Status] or [Remote Diagnostics] is in use.

Firmware Version

You can display the firmware version of the machine.

Back Up/Restore Addr. Book

Using a USB flash memory device, you can backup the machine's Address Book, and also restore those backup data to the machine.

You can also back up and restore the machine's Address Book using Web Image Monitor. For details, see Web Image Monitor Help.

  • Back Up

    You can back up the machine's Address Book to a USB flash memory device.

  • Restore

    You can restore the backup copy of the Address Book from a USB flash memory device.

  • Format

    You can format a USB flash memory device.

  • Obtain Memory Device Info

    You can check the free space and contents of the USB flash memory device.

Fixed USB Port

Specifies whether the same printer driver can be used for multiple printers or not under USB connection.

Default: [Off]

  • On

    The same printer driver you have installed in your computer can be used with any printer other than the one originally used for installation, if the printer is of the same model.

  • Off

    You must install the printer driver separately for individual printers, because the printer other than the original will be recognized as a new device upon USB connection.

Media Slot Use

You can specify whether or not to allow users to use the media slot on the front side of the machine.

With this setting, you can restrict storing scanned files on a removable memory device, and also restrict device setting information files stored on a removable memory device.

Default: [Allow]

Reset All Settings

You can reset the machine settings to their factory defaults. Be sure to turn off and then on the main power of the machine to make the setting effective.

  • Clear Address Book

    You can reset the Address Book of the machine to their factory defaults.

Time Zone

You can specify the time zone by entering the time difference between your local time zone and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). You can enter a value between -1440 and +1440 minutes.

User Restriction

You can specify whether or not to restrict the control panel operation by setting a password. Even if this feature is enabled, it is not necessary to enter the password when printing from a computer or clearing errors.

Remote Diagnostics

You can send a request to repair the machine to the service center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Service Test Call] or [Notify Machine Status] is in use.

Slp Tmr after Engy Sv Prt

When [Ready State After Printing] is set to [Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)], you can specify whether or not the machine resumes Sleep mode immediately after exiting Energy Saver mode.

Default: [Immediate]

  • Immediate

    The machine resumes Sleep mode immediately after printing, regardless of the Sleep Mode Timer settings.

  • After Time Set by Tmr Ends

    The machine resumes Sleep mode after the time specified in Sleep mode elapses.

Ready State After Printing

You can specify how the machine operates when it receives print jobs in Sleep mode.

Default: [Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)]

  • Control Panel On

    The machine turns on the control panel and prints received jobs.

  • Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)

    The machine prints received jobs but the control panel remains off.
