Solution and reference

Printing over a network connection (wired LAN) is not possible.

There is a problem in the connection between the machine and the computer.

Check the cable connecting the machine and the computer, and disconnect and then connect the cable again. Check the connection to a hub or router, and turn off and on the power of that device if it is possible to do so without affecting other devices. Next, turn off the power of the machine, wait for 10 seconds or more after confirming that the main power indicator is turned off, and then turn on the power.

Turning On and Off the Power

IP Address of the machine is not configured correctly.

Check the IP address in [Settings][System Settings][Network/Interface].

An appropriate port for the network environment is not selected in the Windows printer driver.

Right-click the machine icon on the [Devices and Printers] screen, and display the printer properties. Check that the correct port is selected on the [Port] tab. For details about your network environment, consult the network administrator.

Printing over a network connection (wireless LAN) is not possible.

The reception is poor.

Move the machine, or remove obstacles between the machine and the computer, and check if the situation improves.

You can check the wireless signal status of Wireless LAN in [Wireless LAN Signal Status] of [Settings][System Settings][Network/Interface][Machine: Wireless LAN][Infrastructure Mode].

Network/Interface

Another device that uses radio waves at the same frequency such as a microwave oven or cordless telephone is interfering with the machine.

Turn off the power of such devices and check if the situation improves.

Printing over a network connection (wireless LAN) is not possible.

(infrastructure mode)

The SSID is specified incorrectly.

Check [SSID Setting] and [Wireless LAN Signal Status] in [Settings][System Settings][Network/Interface][Machine: Wireless LAN][Infrastructure Mode].

There may be a problem with the access point, or it is rejecting a connection from the device.

Check that the connection to the access point or the connection between the access point and the computer is established normally. On some access points, the connection to the access point may be restricted by the MAC address or other attributes. For details about your network environment, consult the network administrator.

(802.11 ad-hoc mode)

The connection mode or SSID is not specified correctly.

Check the following settings:

  • [Settings][System Settings][Network/Interface][Machine: Wireless LAN][Communication Mode]

  • [Settings][System Settings][Network/Interface][Machine: Wireless LAN][802.11 Ad-hoc Mode][Ad-hoc Channel]
