This section describes the settings in [Display/Input] under [System Settings].

How to Use the Settings Screen

Display

Setting Items

Description

Brightness

  • Brightness

    Adjust the brightness of the screen on the control panel.

  • Auto Dim Screen if it is Not Used For a While

    Specify whether to lower lighting when an operation has not been performed for a minute.

    • Default: [Auto Dim]

Screen Color Setting

Select the screen color of the classic application or Document Server.

  • Default: [Blue-gray]

Display IP Address

Specify whether to display the IPv4 Address and Host Name of the machine on the system bar.

  • Default: [Do not Display]

Function Priority

Specify the mode to be displayed automatically when the power is turned on or when the machine is not used for a while.

  • Default: [Home]

Select Switchable Languages

Specify the languages registered to [Settings][Change Language] and Change Languages widget.

Measurement Unit

Specify the unit of the paper size displayed on the control panel.

RegionA icon (mainly Europe and Asia)

  • Default: [mm]

RegionB icon (mainly North America)

  • Default: [inch]

Application Display Settings by Function

Specify whether to hide all applications related to a specific function.

In the default setting, all functions are displayed.

System Bar Settings

  • Banner System Message Display Time

    Specify a time period to display a message and hide it before switching to the next message.

  • Display Type

    Specify whether to display the function keys on the system bar or enlarge the keys and letters. When [Display Function Keys on Bar] is specified, you can also specify whether to enlarge and highlight the function keys.

  • Display Time/Remaining Toner

    Specify whether to display the clock or the remaining toner.

Home Screen Blank Pages

Specify whether to allow a blank page with no icons to be displayed as the Home screen. You can use this function in the machines installed with RICOH Always Current Technology v1.2 or later.

  • Default: [Display Blank Pages]

Automatic Information Dialog Display

Specify whether to display notifications automatically.

  • Default: [Not Display]

Key/Keyboard/Input Assistance

Setting Items

Description

Function Key Settings

Specify the function to assign the function key. The function key is specified inactive.

If setting this to [On], specify the functions to assign to the function keys.

  • Default: [Off]

You can change the displayed name by setting [Change Display Name] to [Change] for each function key.

If you do this, the displayed name stays the same even if you change the display language. In contrast, if you set [Change Display Name] to [Do not Change], the displayed name changes to the name in the selected language if you change the display language.

You can use this function in the machines installed with RICOH Always Current Technology v1.2 or later.

  • Default: [Do not Change]

Assigning Frequently Used Functions to the Function Keys

[Back] Key

Specify whether to enable the [Back] button to return to the previous screen. The [Back] button may not function regardless of this setting depending on the type of application or displayed content.

  • Default: [Active]

Word List

You can register words in the user dictionary. The registered words are displayed as input candidates for entering text on the keyboard of the control panel. Press [Register/Change] on the top right of the screen and register words.

This function is available when [Show correction suggestions] is set to [ON] in [Keyboard & Input Methods][Switchable Keyboard Settings][Control Panel Keyboard][Text Correction].

Keyboard & Input Methods

Default Keyboard

  • Hardware

    Select whether to display the keyboard on the screen when an external keyboard is connected to the machine.

  • Current Keyboard

    Select the keyboard to use for entering text.

    • Default: [English (US) - Control Panel Keyboard]

Changing the Keyboard Type and Settings

Switchable Keyboard Settings

  • Control Panel Keyboard

    Specify advanced settings for the keyboard of the control panel, including the input language and key layout.

  • iWnn IME

    Specify whether to enable or disable the iWnn IME.

  • iWnn IME Settings

    Specify the settings for the iWnn IME, including the input language and key layout.

Register/Change/Delete User Text

Specify text phrases to insert when entering text. You can use these text phrases when operating classic mode applications. When you register domain, such as "co.jp" and ".com", or preface text, you can use it to send the scanned original by e-mail. You can register up to 40 entries.

Key Repeat

Specify the period to identify that a key is pressed repeatedly when you keep pressing the screen. The key repeat function is available only when using the classic application or Document Server.
