Quality Maintenance

This section describes the items that are available on [Quality Maintenance] under [Maintenance].

Image Density Adjustment	Adjust the print image density to prevent faint spots or smears from appearing on printed pages. Default: [0] Adjusting the Image Density
Registration	Print Test Sheet Specify the tray or the duplex unit to use for printing the registration test sheet. Adjustment Adjust the starting position to print on paper. Default: [0] Adjusting the Print Position
Drum Refresh	You can refresh the drum to improve print quality if streaks or white spots appear on printed images. Drum Refresh
Auto Drum Refresh	Specify how long it takes to refresh the drum automatically. Default: [Standard] Auto Drum Refresh
Altitude Adjustment	Adjust the altitude settings to improve print quality. Default: [Standard] Altitude Adjustment
Charger Output	Specify the power of the electrostatic charger to improve print quality. Default: [Standard] Charger Output
Add Extra Toner	If print density decreases or printed characters are blurred after a large number of documents are printed at one time, toner can be refilled forcibly. To start a toner refill, it is needed to open and close the cover or turn the machine off then on. Add Extra Toner
Scattered Toner Prevention	If toner spreads under the horizontal lines on printed images, specify a prevention mode for each tray to improve print quality. Default: [Off] Scattered Toner Image Prevention
Spotted Toner Prevention	If toner spots appear on printed images, specify a prevention mode to improve print quality. Default: [Off] Spotted Toner Prevention
PCU Heater (mainly Asia)	If image blurring occurs under high temperature and high humidity conditions, enable [PCU Heater] to improve print quality. Default: [On] Photoconductor Unit Heater

General Settings

This section describes the items that are available on [General Settings] under [Maintenance].

Items	Description
Application Authentication	Specify whether to enable authentication for each application. Default: [On] For details about "Starting an extended feature from a web browser", see "Extended Feature Settings" on our website.
Display IP Address	Specify whether to display the IPv4 address and host name of the machine. Default: [Do not Display]
Display Supply Info	Specify whether to display the amount of toner on the top Menu screen. Default: [On]
Menu Protect	Specify whether to protect the menu settings. To enable [Menu Protect], specify a protection level. Default: [Level 2]
List/Test Print Lock	Specify whether to prohibit List/Test printing. Default: [Off]
Unit of Measure	Specify the unit of the paper size displayed on the control panel. (mainly Europe and Asia) Default: [mm] (mainly North America) Default: [inch]
Panel Key Sound	Specify the volume of the panel key sound or turn off the key sound. Default: [Volume 2]
Display Contrast	Specify the display density by selecting one of seven levels. Default: [4]
Key Repeat	Specify whether to scroll the display panel when the [] or [] key is held down. To enable [Key Repeat], specify the scroll speed. Default: [Normal]
Rear-Exhaust Fan	Specify whether to turn the rear exhaust fan to reduce unpleasant odor. Default: [Off]
Compatible ID	Specify whether to enable or disable the compatible ID. When this machine is connected to the computer via USB or network, specify [Inactive] to avoid a printer driver is automatically installed by plug and play. Default: [Active]
Tray Parameters (PCL) Tray Parameters (PS)	You can configure the settings to change the paper tray parameters used for PCL or PostScript printing. Change the parameters when the machine is replaced with another manufacturer's machine for output without a printer driver in the basic system.

Timer Settings

This section describes the items that are available on [Timer Settings] under [Maintenance].

Items	Description
Auto Reset Timer	Specify how long the machine waits before it displays the top Menu screen following last usage. When [On] is selected, specify the number of seconds the machine waits before it auto resets. Default: [On]: [60 seconds]
Set Date Set Time	Set the date and time for the machine's internal clock.
Time Zone	Specify the standard time in the region where the machine is used. (mainly Europe) Default: [+1hr.0min.] (mainly North America) Default: [-5hr.0min.]
Daylight Saving Time	Specify how long daylight saving time is in effect and how many hours the clock goes forward. Daylight Saving Time Specify whether to enable or disable the daylight saving time. HDD Management

Items	Description
Delete All Temporary Jobs	You can delete all temporary documents saved on the hard disk (Sample Print, Locked Print, and Hold Print data) at once.
Delete All Stored Jobs	You can delete all Stored Print data saved on the hard disk at once.
Auto Delete Temporary Jobs	Specify whether to automatically delete temporary documents saved on the hard disk (Sample Print, Locked Print, and Hold Print data). When [On] is selected, specify the number of hours the machine waits before it deletes documents. Default: [Off]: [8 hours]
Auto Delete Stored Jobs	Specify whether to automatically delete Stored Print data saved on the hard disk. When [On] is selected, specify the number of days the machine waits before it deletes documents. Default: [On]: [3 days]
