Host Interface

This section describes the items that are available on [Host Interface].

Items

Description

Network Config. Wizard

You can start the Network Config. Wizard and configure the following network setting items.

  • LAN Settings

    You can select [Wired LAN] or [Wireless LAN] and configure various settings.

  • USB Port

    You can specify whether to enable or disable the USB port.

  • Dir Connctn Stg

    You can specify whether to enable or disable the Wireless Direct function.

    [Dir Connctn Stg] appears when the optional wireless LAN board is installed.

Direct Connection

Configure the settings to use the Wireless Direct function.

[Direct Connection] appears when the optional wireless LAN board is installed.

  • Active/Inactive

    Specify whether to allow guests to use the machine in Dir Con: Group Owner mode.

    • Default: [Inactive]

    When [Active] is selected, specify the following setting items.

  • SSID

    • Device Name

      Specify the device name with up to 23 characters.

    • Fix SSID

      Specify whether to set the header text of wireless direct network name (SSID) as "DIRECT-zV-" or not. When [Off] is selected, two characters between "-" are specified randomly.

      • Default: [Off]

  • Connection Password

    Specify the password with 8 to 63 characters.

  • IPv4 Address

    You can view the machine's IPv4 network address for a Wireless Direct connection.

  • Connection Status

    You can view the machine's wireless direct connection status with other devices.

Smart Device Connector

Configure the settings to use the Smart Device Connector app.

  • Guest Use

    Specify whether to allow guests to use the app.

    [Guest Use] appears when the optional wireless LAN board is installed.

    • Default: [Prohibit]

  • HTTPS Connection

    Specify whether to use the HTTPS connection.

    • Default: [Do not Use]

  • QR Code Print

    You can print the QR code for the Smart Device Connector app.

I/O Buffer

Specify the memory size of the I/O buffer. Normally it is not necessary to change this value.

  • Default: [128 KB]

I/O Timeout

Specify how many seconds the machine should wait before ending a print job. If printing operation is frequently interrupted by data from other ports, increase the timeout period.

  • Default: [15 seconds]

DIPRINT Timeout Period

Specify the timeout period for DIPRINT printing.

  • Default: [60]

Network

Configure the network settings.

  • Machine IPv4 Address

    Select [Specify] and specify the following setting items.

    • IP Add.

      Specify the IPv4 address.

      • Default: [11.22. 33.44]

    • Subnet M

      Specify the subnet mask.

      • Default: [0.0.0.0]

    • Gateway

      Specify the gateway address.

      • Default: [0.0.0.0]

  • IPv6 Stateless Setting

    Specify whether to enable or disable stateless IPv6 address auto configuration.

    • Default: [Active]

  • DHCPv6 Configuration

    Configure the DHCPv6 settings.

    • DHCPv6 Setting

      Specify whether or not to enable DHCPv6.

      • Default: [Inactive]

      When [Active] is selected, specify the following setting items.

    • Operation Mode

      Specify the operation mode for DHCPv6.

      • Default: [Router Request]

    • DNS Server Address

      Specify how the DNS server address is specified.

      • Default: [Auto-Obtain (DHCPv6)]

  • IPsec

    Specify whether to use the machine's IP sec.

    • Default: [Inactive]

  • Effective Protocol

    Enable protocols to use in the network.

    • Default

      • IPv4: [Active]

      • IPv6: [Inactive]

      • SMB: [Active]

      • @Remote Service: [Active]

      • Firmware Update (IPv4): [Active]

      • Firmware Update (IPv6): [Active]

  • Ethernet Speed

    Specify the access speed between the machine and the network devices. When the communication is unstable, fix the Transmission Speed to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. When Full Duplex mode is selected, specify the same Transmission Speed of the connected device as the machine.

    • Default: [Auto Select: Disable 1Gbps]

  • IEEE802.1X Auth.(Ethernet)

    Specify whether to use the IEEE 802.1X authentication for Ethernet.

    • Default: [Inactive]

  • Restr.IEEE802.1X Auth.Def.

    You can restore the default IEEE 802.1X settings when the machine cannot be connected with the IEEE 802.1X authentication.

  • LAN Type

    Specify the method of connection.

    [LAN Type] appears when the optional wireless LAN board is installed.

    • Default: [Ethernet]

  • Permit SSL/TLS Comm.

    Specify encryption mode for SSL/TLS communication. When [Ciphertext Only] is selected, install the SSL certificate for the machine.

    • Default: [Ciphertext/Cleartext]

Parallel Interface

Configure the parallel interface settings.

[Parallel Interface] appears when the optional IEEE 1284 interface board is installed.

  • Parallel Timing

    Specify the timing for the control signal of the parallel interface.

    • Default: [ACK outside]

  • Parallel Comm. Speed

    Specify the communication speed for the parallel interface.

    • Default: [High Speed]

  • Selection Signal Status

    Specify the level for the select signal of the parallel interface.

    • Default: [High]

  • Input Prime

    Specify whether to validate or invalidate the input prime signal upon reception.

    • Default: [Inactive]

  • Bidirectional Comm.

    Specify the machine's response mode to a status acquisition request from the computer.

    • Default: [On]

Wireless LAN

Configure the wireless LAN settings.

[Wireless LAN] appears when the optional wireless LAN board is installed.

  • WLAN: EasySetup/Direct Con

    Specify the method to set up wireless LAN automatically using Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

    • Default: [Push Button Method]

    Connecting to a Wireless LAN

  • Communication Mode

    Specify the communication mode of the wireless LAN.

    • Default: [Infrastructure Mode]

    Selecting the Network Connection Method

  • SSID Setting

    Specify the SSID settings to distinguish the access point in [Infrastructure Mode] or [802.11 Ad-hoc Mode].

    Up to 32 alphanumeric and ASCII (0x20-0x7) characters can be specified and the characters are case-sensitive.

  • Ad-hoc Channel

    Specify the channel to use when [802.11 Ad-hoc Mode] is selected. Select the channel depending on the radio wave status

    • Default: [11]

Wireless LAN (Continued)

  • Security Method

    Specify the encryption of the Wireless LAN. To encrypt, select one of [WEP], [WPA2-PSK], or [WPA2] as the Security Method. When [WPA2] is selected, install the authentication methods and certificate.

    • Default: [Off]

  • Direct Connection Settings

    Specify the device name and password for direct connection using the Wireless Direct function. In addition, you can view the machine's IPv4 network address for Wireless Direct connection (Display IPv4 Address) and the machine's direct connection status with other devices (Connection Status).

    Connecting to the Machine from a Mobile Device Using the Wi-Fi Direct Function

  • Wireless LAN Signal

    You can view the machine's radio wave status when the machine.

    [Wireless LAN Signal] appears when [Infrastructure Mode] is selected for [Communication Mode].

  • Restore Defaults

    You can restore the default wireless LAN settings.

USB Port

Specify whether to enable or disable the USB port

RegionA icon (mainly Europe)

  • Default: [Inactive]

RegionA icon (mainly Asia)

  • Default: [Active]

RegionB icon (mainly North America)

  • Default: [Active]

USB Settings

Configure the communication parameters for computer-to-machine connection via USB.

  • Default

    • USB Speed: [Auto Select]

Access Control Function

Specify whether to enable the function to permit the communication within the specified range of the IP addresses (Access Control).

  • Default: [Inactive]

You can restore all the interface settings.
