WIRELESS & NETWORKS

This section describes the user tools in [WIRELESS & NETWORKS] under [Screen Features].

Interface Settings

Interface Settings

Select the network interface for the control panel.

  • Wi-Fi Connection

    Communicates using the built-in Wi-Fi interface on the control panel.

  • Machine Network

    Communicates using the machine's network interface. For details about the settings required for network connection, see Interface Settings.

Default: [Machine Network]

Wi-Fi

Specify whether or not to enable the built-in Wi-Fi interface on the control panel.

To enable this setting, select a Wi-Fi network from the list, and then enter the password. If the Wi-Fi network you want to connect is not displayed, press [+] in the upper right corner of the control panel, and then specify [Network SSID], [Security], and [Password].

Default: [OFF]

If [Wireless Direct Settings] is enabled, then [Wi-Fi] is disabled.

Wireless Direct Settings

If the Wireless Direct Settings are enabled, the control panel can be used as a DHCP server. When the client on a network starts, the information such as an IP address that is required for network connection is assigned automatically.

Default: [OFF]

Configure all the following items to enable this function:

  • Device name

    Press [RENAME DEVICE] on the top right of the screen, and then enter the name of the device connected to the client.

  • Group Owner Mode

    Specify whether or not to enable group owner mode. When this setting is disabled, easy connection mode is enabled.

    Default: [OFF]

  • Connection Password

    Enter the password for connecting to a network.

  • DHCP Server IP Address

    Enter the IP address of the control panel used as an access point by the client.

  • DHCP IP Address Range

    Enter the range of the IP address assigned to the client. The IP address assigned to the client is effective for one hour.

  • Select Channel

    Select the channel for direct connection from 1 to 11.

    Default: [ch6]

  • Fix SSID

    Specify whether to set the header text of SSID as "DIRECT-zV-" or not. If this setting is disabled, two characters between "-" are specified randomly. This setting cannot be changed if [Group Owner Mode] is enabled.

    Default: [ON]

  • Peer Devices

    Make connection settings to one of the displayed devices. This setting cannot be changed if [Group Owner Mode] is enabled.

  • Remembered Groups

    Select a group to which to connect from the connection history. This setting cannot be changed if [Group Owner Mode] is enabled.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth

Specify whether or not to enable the built-in Bluetooth interface on the control panel.

Default: [OFF]

SEARCH FOR DEVICES

Press [SEARCH FOR DEVICES] on the top right of the screen, and then search the available Bluetooth devices.

AVAILABLE DEVICES

Select a device to use from the search result of the available Bluetooth devices.

PAIRED DEVICES

Select a device to use from the connection history of the Bluetooth device. The history shows the ten devices most recently connected to the machine.

Proxy Settings

Use Proxy

Specify whether the control panel uses a proxy server for communications.

Default: [OFF]

Proxy Address

Enter the proxy server IP address.

Port Number

Enter the port number for communicating to the proxy server.

Proxy Exceptions

Enter the addresses that are exceptions, so do not use the proxy server.

Enable Authentication

Specify whether or not to use proxy authentication.

Default: [OFF]

Login User Name

Enter the login user name for the proxy server.

Login Password

Enter the login password for the proxy server.

Port Forwarding to Machine

Contact your sales or service representative to use this function.

Port Forwarding Settings

Enabling the port forwarding function allows you to use a port that you have specified in advance. By using this port, you can connect to the machine from a smart device without going through a LAN. You need to enable the Wi-Fi settings or the Wireless Direct settings to use the port forwarding function.

Default: [ON]
