General Settings (Scanner Settings)

This section describes the settings in the [General Settings] menu under [Scanner Settings].

Introduction of Two Types of Setting Screens (Standard/Classic)

Setting Items

Description

Switch Title

Specify a title to classify the destinations in the address book so that you can find a destination more easily. Select from Title 1, Title 2 or Title 3.

  • Default: [Title 1]

Search Destination

Select the address book to search from the address book of the machine and the address book on the LDAP server.

  • Default: [Address Book]

Ext. Auth.: Folder Path Overwrite Setting

Specify whether to overwrite the address book registered on the machine with the folder information of the logged in user registered on the LDAP server.

  • Default: [Do not Overwrite]

PC Scan Command Standby Time

Select whether to accept the instruction to perform scanning that is sent from a computer when a user is performing operation in the scanner function on the control panel.

  • On

    The machine does not accept the instruction to perform scanning from a computer for 3-30 seconds after an operation on the control panel has finished.

  • Off

    The machine accepts the instruction to perform scanning from a computer even when a user is performing operation in the scanner function on the control panel.

  • Default: [On] (10 second(s))

Destination List Display Priority 1

This setting item become valid only when using [Scanner (Classic)].

Specify the type of destination list to display on the scanner screen.

  • Default: [Email / Folder]

Destination List Display Priority 2

Select whether to display an e-mail destination or folder destination when displaying the scanner screen.

  • Default: [Email Address]

Print & Delete Scanner Records

Specify how to perform printing when the number of entries in the transmission history reaches the maximum number of 250.

  • Print and Delete All

    Print all entries and erase the transmission history. The entries may not be printed depending on the security settings.

  • Do not Print: Delete Oldest

    The oldest entry is deleted when a new entry is added in the history.

  • Do not Print: Disable Send

    Transmission becomes impossible after the number of entries reaches the maximum number. Transmission becomes possible after printing the history using [Print Scanner Records] or erasing it using [Delete Scanner Records].

  • Default: [Print and Delete All]

Print Scanner Records

Select this to erase all transmission history after printing it.

Delete Scanner Records

Select this to erase all transmission history without printing it.

Delete Recent Destinations

Select this to erase all transmission history.

Scanner Records with no Privileges (This setting item becomes invalid only when using [Scanner (Classic)])

Select [Replace with Asterisks] to hide the destinations specified by other users and display asterisks. If you select [Do not Display], all scanner records except the records for the login user are not displayed at all.

  • Default: [Replace with Asterisks]

Use WSD or DSM

This setting item become valid only when using [Scanner (Classic)].

Select whether to use the WSD or DSM function.

  • Default: [Do not Use]

Use a Destination List that is not DSM

This setting item become valid only when using [Scanner (Classic)].

Select whether to use a destination list other than the that of DSM when using the DSM function.

  • Default: [Available]

Program Setting for Destinations

Select whether to include the destination information in the address book when programing an entry.

  • Default: [Exclude Destinations]

Download File Directly From URL Link

This setting is applied when the machine is configured to send the URL of a scanned data and not to attach the data itself in an e-mail. Select whether to allow directly downloading the scanned data when the URL is clicked on a computer without accessing Web Image Monitor.

  • Default: [Off]

Storing the Scanned Document in the Machine and Sending the URL by E-mail

Login User Address Priority

Select whether to specify the e-mail address of the logged-in user as the destination when user authentication is specified on the machine.

  • Default: [Off]
