Sending Faxes via Another Machine (Non-fax Equipped Model)

Using the fax function of the main-machine, you can send a fax from a device (sub-machine) that does not have the fax function. You can also confirm or cancel transmitting the Transmission Standby Files stored on the main-machine.

Sending a Fax Using the Fax Function on the Main-machine

On the Remote Fax screen, send a fax from the sub-machine.

1Press [Fax] on the Home screen of the sub-machine.

2Place an original on the scanner.

3On the Remote Fax screen, press [Settings] and then specify the scan settings.

Sending a Fax at the Image Quality Suitable for the Original

4After configuring the send settings, specify the destination on the fax screen, and send the fax.

When using the address book, you can select a destination from the address book of the sub-machine.

Basic Procedure for Transmitting Faxes

Confiming and Cancelling Transmission of a Transmission Standby File from the Sub-machine

On the Remote Fax screen, you can confirm and cancel transmission of a Transmission Standby File from the sub-machine.

1Press [Fax] on the Home screen of the sub-machine.

2Press [Job Status] on the Remote Fax screen.

3Press [Transmission Standby File] and select [File List] or [Files under Transmission].

4Check the Transmission Standby Files.

  • All Transmission Standby Files stored on the main-machine are displayed.

  • is displayed in front of the destination for a Transmission Standby File sent from the sub-machine.

  • For a document specified with more than one destination, the destination specified first is displayed. Also, only the number of destinations of the unsent faxes is displayed in "Dest.".

5Select the document to cancel transmission and press [Cancel Sending].
