Pick up the handset of the external telephone and dial. If you hear a voice at the other end, continue conversation as normal.
To use this function, an external telephone is required.
If memory is full (0% is displayed for "Remaining Memory" in [Remaining Memory Information]) or almost full, you cannot transmit documents.
If memory becomes full during scanning, transmission is canceled.
Place the original, and then select the scan settings you require.
Pick up the handset.
You will hear a dial tone.
Dial.

The machine immediately dials the destination.
If you make a mistake, replace the handset, and then try again from Step 2.
When the line is connected and you hear a high-pitched tone, press [Start] to send your fax document.
When the confirmation screen appears, press [Start Transmission].
If you hear a voice, tell the receiver that you want to send them a fax document (ask them to switch to fax mode).
When sending multiple originals using the exposure glass, place the next original and press [Start] within 10 seconds.
Replace the handset.
If you want to cancel a transmission, press [Stop], and then remove the originals.
The machine does not operate in sleep mode even if you lift the handset of the external telephone. To operate the machine, you must exit sleep mode.
(mainly North America) You can also use the optional handset as an external telephone.
