Specifying a Destination

You can specify a fax destination by:

This section describes how to specify a destination by entering it manually or selecting it from the Address Book.

Note

  • To specify destinations using the Address Book, register them in the address book in advance. For details about registering fax or group destinations, see "Fax Destination" or "Registering Names to a Group", Connecting the Machine/System Settings.

  • The Fax Features menu includes a User Parameter (switch 17, bit 2) that enables you to configure the machine to force the user to press [Add] whenever s/he specifies a destination using a destination key. This prevents users accidentally sending documents to the wrong destination. See Parameter Settings.

  • The total number of destinations programmed in multiple groups should not exceed the maximum number of destinations you can specify per file, see Maximum Values.

  • A confirmation message appears if the specified group includes one or more destinations without a fax number registered. Press [Select] to specify only destinations with a fax number. Press [Cancel] to change the destination.

  • To cancel any destination(s) among the group, press [Expand Group] on the destination details screen. Select the destination you want to delete, and then press [Delete Destination].
