Removing Jammed Paper

This section explains how to remove jammed paper.

CAUTION

  • Be careful not to cut yourself on any sharp edges when you reach inside the machine to remove misfed sheets of paper or masters.

CAUTION

  • When removing jammed paper or replacing ink, avoid getting ink on your skin. If ink comes into contact with your skin, wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water.

CAUTION

  • When removing jammed paper or replacing ink, avoid getting ink on your clothing. If ink comes into contact with your clothing, wash the stained area with cold water. Hot water will set the ink into the fabric and make removing the stain impossible.

CAUTION

  • When removing jammed paper, make sure not to trap or injure your fingers.

Important

  • After clearing misfeeds, make sure that all the doors, covers, and units are closed and the indicator is off.

  • Do not turn off the main switch when clearing misfeeds. Doing so clears your print settings.

  • To prevent misfeeds, do not leave any torn scraps of paper inside the machine.

  • Contact your service representative if misfeeds occur frequently.

  • The master eject unit or the drum unit may be locked if the security mode is active. Enter the security code or ask your administrator if necessary.

  • Only touch the areas explicitly indicated in the manual when removing jammed sheets.
