Streaks or Scratches (How to Identify the Cause)
If streaks or scratches occur on an image, identify the cause using the following flow chart.
Print the image on the front, back, and both sides using the paper on which the streaks or scratches occur.
Check if the areas where the streaks or scratches occur are the same.
Yes | It is likely that the streaks on the fusing belt have been transferred. |
No | The paper path (guide plate, transfer roller, and paper dust collection unit) of the main unit or option is stained. |
(a) Execute Smooth Fusing Belt
In the [Machine: Maintenance] group on the [Operator Adjust.] menu, select 0508: [Manually Smooth Fusing Belt], and then execute 01: [Belt Scratches].
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Finished! |
No | Redo the procedure from Step 1. If the problem persists even after performing this 5 times, there is no other solution. |
(b) Clean the paper path of the main unit or option
Clean the paper path (guide plate, transfer roller, and paper dust collection unit) of the main unit or option.
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Finished! |
No | If the problem persists after cleaning, perform the procedure described in see Solution: (Adjust the line speed of the paper exit motor and the paper feed speed at the switchback entrance/exit). If the problem still persists, see Solution: Adjusting the Decurler Setting. |
