Double-feeding is erroneously detected or cannot be detected
Cause/Occurrence conditions:
Thin paper with a thickness of Paper Weight 0 (40 to 52.2 gsm) or Paper Weight 1 (52.3 to 63.0 gsm) used.
Thin paper with a paper width below 297 mm (11.7 inches) fed.
The double-feed sensor is soiled with paper dust or other particles.
Solution:
Set the paper width to 297 mm (11.7 inches) or above.
If the paper thickness is Paper Weight 0 and the paper width is below 297 mm (11.7 inches), there is a possibility of double-feeding, so set the paper width to 297 mm (11.7 inches) or above before feeding the paper.
Changing the Double-Feed setting
In [Detailed settings] for custom paper, set 1331-03 [Detect JAM099] to "Off".

If the Double-Feed setting is set to Off, double-feeding is no longer detected and this may cause degradation in the image quality and erroneous mixed delivery of white paper.
