Preparing for Replacing the Drum Unit
If “Replacement of Drum Unit will soon be necessary.” appears on the system message widget, have a replacement drum unit at hand.

“Replacement of Drum Unit is now necessary.” appears when the drum unit needs to be replaced. You can continue printing even if you do not replace the drum unit, but the print quality may be reduced. Replace the drum unit soon.
When you replace the drum unit, see How to Replace the Drum Unit, or press [Check Status], and then press [Check] in the [Mach.Status] area in the [Mach./Applic. Stat] tab, and then follow the instruction on the screen.
When replacing drum unit, take the following precautions:
Keep enough space for placing old drum unit and new drum unit.
Prepare a new drum unit.
Work on tarpaulin sheets or cloths that can get dirty, and wear gloves and an apron, not to get your hands, clothes, or desk dirty.
