This section describes the parameters that can be set on [System].

Print Error Report

You can specify whether or not to print an error report when a machine error or memory error occurs.

Default: [Off]

Auto Continue

You can specify whether or not to continue printing after a system error occurs. When you enable this setting, specify how long the error message is displayed before printing is resumed.

When Auto Continue is enabled and a certain machine error occurs in the machine while printing, the job might be cancelled or printing will not be performed as intended. When a job is canceled due to an error, the machine automatically begins the next job in the queue.

Memory Overflow

You can specify whether or not to print a memory overflow error report.

Sub Paper Size

You can specify whether or not the paper size switches automatically when paper of the specified size is not loaded in the tray.

This feature supports automatic switching between A4 and Letter (8 1/2" x 11") size paper only.

You can select the printer language to be used when the machine fails to detect the printer language.

Sleep Mode Timer

You can reduce the power consumption of the machine when the machine is not in use.

Sleep Mode Timer

You can specify the duration the machine waits before entering Sleep mode. The machine enters Sleep mode if no user input has been made during the specified duration. When the machine is in Sleep mode, it takes longer to start printing.

Default: [1 minute]

Fusg Off Mode(EnSav)On/Off

Fusg Off Mode(EnSav)On/Off

You can specify whether the machine enters Fusing Unit Off mode or not.

Default: [Off]

    Turns on Fusing Unit Off mode. This setting further reduces power consumption, but the machine may take longer to recover from Fusing Unit Off mode.

    When you select [On], you can set [Exit Fusing Unit Off Mode] and [Fusing Unit Off Mode Timer].

  • Off

    Turns off Fusing Unit Off mode.

Exit Fusing Unit Off Mode

You can specify the condition for the machine to exit Fusing Unit Off mode.

Default: [On Printing]

  • On Printing

    The machine exits Fusing Unit Off mode when printing is performed.

  • On Operating Control Panel

    The machine exits Fusing Unit Off mode when any key on the control panel is pressed.

Fusing Unit Off Mode Timer

You can specify the period of time the machine waits before entering Fusing Unit Off mode.

The timer is reset if any key on the control panel is pressed or printing is performed.

Default: [10 seconds]

The Fusing Unit Off Mode Timer is reset when:

  • A print is performed

  • Any key on the operating panel is pressed when [Exit Fusing Unit Off Mode] is set to [On Operating Control Panel]

Note

  • If the specified period of time in [Fusing Unit Off Mode Timer] is longer than what is in [Sleep Mode Timer], the machine enters Sleep mode when it is not in use for the specified period of time in [Sleep Mode Timer].

Weekly Timer

You can set the timer for the machine to turn off and on the main power or enter and exit Sleep mode every day or on specified days of the week. Detailed settings for Weekly Timer, such as setting the day or time to enable Weekly Timer, can be configured using a web browser from networked computers. (We use Web Image Monitor installed on this machine.)

To use Weekly Timer, it is necessary to set the date and time for the machine's internal clock using the control panel. For details, see Timer Settings.

Weekly Timer Code

To configure this setting, administrator authentication must be enabled.

You can set a password (up to eight digits) for Weekly Timer. Once the password is set, the screen requiring the password is displayed while the machine is turned off or in Sleep mode by Weekly Timer. Enter the password to turn on the machine or recover the machine from Sleep mode.

If you set Weekly Timer Code to [Off], you do not need to enter a password to recover the machine.

Main Power On by Remote

You can turn on the main power from a computer on the network using Wake-On-LAN.

Ready State After Printing

You can specify the state the machine return to after printing documents during Sleep Mode.

Default: [Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)]

  • Control Panel On

    The machine does not return to Sleep Mode and the initial screen appears on the control panel.

  • Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)

    The machine returns to Sleep Mode.

Print Compressed Data

You can specify whether or not to print compressed data. The supported compression format is GZIP.

Memory Usage

You can specify whether or not to use memory from Font Priority or Frame Priority.

Default: [Frame Priority]

  • Font Priority

    Allocates more memory to the PDL work area. Select this setting if printing fails due to insufficient memory.

  • Frame Priority

    Allocates more memory for image processing. Select this setting to increase print speed. Depending on the document you are printing, this setting might not be effective.

Spool Printing

You can specify whether or not to complete spooling before starting to print. Spool Printing stores a job temporarily in the machine, and then prints it. This parameter appears only when the optional hard disk is installed.

RAM Disk

If the hard disk is not installed for PDF Direct Print, select a value of 2 MB or higher. This parameter appears only when the optional hard disk is not installed.

Auto E-mail Notify

You can specify whether or not to send an error message to a preset e-mail address when a machine error occurs. After changing the setting, turn off the power of the machine briefly, and then turn it on again.

Silent Mode

You can specify whether or not to enable silent mode for the machine. If you select [On], you can printout all print jobs silently, however the print speed will decrease.

You can specify whether or not to switch to Off mode if all Ethernet connections and USB2.0 connections are disconnected for more than two hours.
