Example 1: The paper delivered to the output tray is curled and cannot be stacked. The machine detects that the maximum stackable limit has been reached after only a few sheets are delivered

The jam code which appears when a problem occurs varies depending on the finisher being used.

Status of paper:

  • The paper is curled at the finisher or stacker's output tray, allowing only a few sheets to be stacked.

  • The curling at the trailing edge of the paper is severe, so that only a few sheets can be stacked.

Decurling method

Specify "U Curl Correction Level" to decurl the paper downward when it is delivered to the output tray.

<If adjusting the setting in "Adjustment Settings for Operators">

1In the 03: [Machine: Paper Feed/ Output] group on the [Adjustment Settings for Operators] menu, select 0301: [Correct Output Paper Curl: 1 Sided: Face Up], 0302: [Correct Output Paper Curl: 1 Sided: Face Down], or 0303: [Correct Output Paper Curl: 2 Sided].

2Select [The paper tray' name].

For example, to decurl the paper fed from Tray 1, select [Tray 1].

3Select [U Curl Correction Level: Small], [U Curl Correction Level: Medium], or [U Curl Correction Level: Large].

< If adjusting the setting in "Advanced Settings" for the custom paper you are using>

1In [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper, select 1331: [Correct Paper Curl].

2Select [5: U Curl Correction Level: Small], [6: U Curl Correction Level: Medium], or [7: U Curl Correction Level: Large].

Note

  • Select the degree of decurling from "Small", "Medium", and "Large" according to the degree of curling. If you cannot assess the degree of curling, try decurling in the order of "Small", "Medium", and "Large". Decurling more than necessary may cause a paper jam, scratches, or sheets being bent at corners.

  • If adjusting the setting in [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper you are using, register the paper to use as the custom paper in advance.
