Specifying the classification code for a print job

When printing in an environment where classification codes are required, a classification code must be specified for each print job.

Important

  • The specified classification code is stored in the printer driver.

  • To switch between different classification codes, install the printer driver under different names, and specify different classification code for each driver.

When using the PCL 6 printer driver

1Click the WordPad menu button in the upper left corner of the window, and then click [Print].

2Select the printer you want to use.

3Click [Preferences].

4Click the [Detailed Settings] tab.

5In the "Menu:" box, click [Job Setup].

6Enter the classification code in the "Classification Code:" box.

7Change any other print settings if necessary.

8Click [OK].

9Start printing from the application's [Print] dialog box.

When using the PCL 5c printer driver

6Change any other print settings if necessary.

7Click [OK].

8Start printing from the application's [Print] dialog box.

Note

  • When [Document Server] is selected in the "Job Type:" list, the classification code cannot be entered.
