Always replace the print cartridge when a notification appears on the display. When the black toner runs out, printing of any type becomes impossible until you replace the print cartridge. You can print only in black and white after any of the cyan, magenta, or yellow toner runs out. Keep the empty print cartridge attached until you replace it with a new print cartridge.
Errors may occur if you use toner other than the recommended one.
When adding toner, do not turn off the main power. Otherwise, settings will be lost.
Store toner where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight, temperatures rise above 35 °C (95 °F), or high humidity.
Store toner on a flat surface.
Do not shake the print cartridge with its mouth down after removing it. Residual toner may scatter.
Do not repeatedly install and remove print cartridges. This will result in toner leakage.
Do not touch the shutter on the bottom side of the print cartridge.
For details about installing the toner, see the instructions on the package of the print cartridge.
Replace the print cartridge when the following messages appear on the display:
"Add Toner"
If the following message appears on the display when you press [Supplies], the print cartridge has almost run out. Have a replacement print cartridge at hand.
"Toner Almost Empty"
If print cartridge are not changed when necessary, printing will become impossible. We recommend keeping a stock of print cartridge.
Print cartridge (consumables) are not covered by warranty. However, if there is problem, contact the store where they were purchased.
