Replacing the Cleaning Unit for Intermediate Transfer Belt

1Open the front covers.

2Pull down the 2 levers.

3Remove the 4 screws, and then remove the cover.

4Pull out the drawer until it stops.

5Remove the transfer unit.

See Replacing the Transfer Unit.

6Spread a sheet of paper.

7Push the drawer back into the machine.

8Remove the cleaning unit for photoconductor unit.

See Replacing the Charge Unit/Cleaning Unit for Photoconductor Unit/Photoconductor Unit.

9Pull up the 2 levers, and then remove the screw.

10Holding the grip, pull out the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt while pressing it to the left.

11Pull out the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt until it stops.

12While holding the latch, remove the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt.

13Engage the new cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt with the guide rail.

14Push in the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt while pressing it to the left.

15Secure the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt with the screw.

16Pull out the drawer until it stops.

17Remove the paper.

18Push the drawer back into the machine.

19Turn the machine on.

20Access the Adjustment Settings for Skilled Operators menu.

21Press [Machine: Maintenance].

22Press [ITB Manual Lubrication].

23Press [Execute ITB Manual Lubrication].

24Press [OK].

25Close the front covers.

Lubrication starts. It takes about 5 minutes.

If lubrication fails soon after starting, check the following:

  • Is the cleaning unit for intermediate transfer belt attached?

  • Is the cleaning unit for photoconductor unit detached?

  • Has the toner run out or almost run out?

If this operation fails halfway, contact your sales or service representative.

26Check that lubrication has completed, and then press [Exit].

27Open the front covers.

28Attach the transfer unit.

29Attach the cleaning unit for photoconductor unit.

30Pull down the 2 levers.

31Attach the cover, and then secure it with the 4 screws.

32Pull up the 2 levers.

33Close the front covers.

34Reset the counter for replaceable parts.

Do not turn the machine on until you have read how to do so.
