Enabling Pattern Printing

You can enable embedded pattern printing to discourage or prevent unauthorized copying.

1Log in as the machine administrator from Web Image Monitor.

2Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].

3Click [Unauthorized Copy Prevention: Printer] under "Device Settings".

4Select [On] for "Unauthorized Copy Prevention Setting".

5In "Compulsory Unauthorized Copy Prevention", specify whether to select the embedded pattern in the printer driver or on the printer's control panel.

  • [Driver/Command]

    You can specify all embedded pattern settings using the printer driver.

  • [Driver/Command (Most Settings)]

    You can use the printer driver to specify all embedded pattern settings except for the type and density of the embedded pattern.

  • [Machine Setting(s)]

    You cannot specify embedded pattern settings by the printer driver. The embedded pattern specified using the printer's control panel will be printed.

6Click [OK].

7Log out.

1Log in as the machine administrator from the control panel.

2Display the “Unauthorized Copy Prevention Stg.” screen.

[System Settings] [Administrator Tools] [Unauthorized Copy Prevention Printing: Printer] [Unauthorized Copy Prevention Stg.]

3Enable pattern printing.

[On] [OK]

4Specify whether to select the embedded pattern in the printer driver or on the printer's control panel.

[Compulsory Unathd. Copy Preventn.] Select one of the following [OK]

[Driver / Command]

You can specify all embedded pattern settings using the printer driver.

[Driver/Command (Most Settings)]

You can use the printer driver to specify all embedded pattern settings except for the type and density of the embedded pattern.

[Machine Setting(s)]

You cannot specify embedded pattern settings by the printer driver. The embedded pattern specified using the printer's control panel will be printed.

5Log out.
