Enabling SSL for SMTP Connections

Use the following procedure to enable SSL encryption for SMTP connections.

SP C340DN

1Log in as the network administrator from Web Image Monitor.

2Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].

3Click [Email] under "Device Settings".

4Click [On] for "Use Secure Connection (SSL)" in the "SMTP" section.

If you are not using SSL for SMTP connections, click [Off].

5Click [OK].

6Log out.

SP C342DN

1Log in as the network administrator from the control panel.

2Display the “SMTP Server” screen.

[System Settings] [Email Settings] [SMTP Server]

3Enable SSL.

[On] under “Use Secure Connection (SSL)” [OK]

If you are not using SSL for SMTP connections, press [Off].

When “Use Secure Connection (SSL)” is set to [On], the port number is changed to 465.

4Log out.
