Printing with Mac OS X

Follow the procedure below to print using the PostScript 3 printer driver for Mac OS X.

1After creating a document, open the printing preferences screen in the document's native application.

For details, see Displaying the Printer Driver Properties in Mac OS X.

2Configure the following settings:

  • Copies:

    Specify the number of copies.

  • Paper Size:

    Select the size of the document.

  • Orientation:

    Select the orientation of the document.

  • Collated (Collate pages:)

    Specify whether or not to collate output sheets.

    For some versions of Mac OS X, select [Paper Handling] or [Copies & Pages] in the pop-up menu, and then select the [Collate:] check box.

3Select [Paper Feed] in the pop-up menu.

4Select the paper tray that contains the paper you want to print onto.

If you select [Auto Select], the paper tray is automatically selected according to the paper size and type specified.

5Select [Printer Features] in the pop-up menu.

6Switch the "Feature Sets:" menu to configure the following settings:

  • Paper Type:

    Select the type of paper that is loaded in the paper tray.

  • Color Mode:

    Select [Color] for color printing, and [Black and White] for black-and-white printing.

7Change any other print settings as necessary.

You can set convenient print functions in the pop-up menus of the printer driver. For details, see Convenient Print Functions.

8Start printing from the application's printing preferences screen.

Note

  • Disable the application's collate function to use the printer's collate function.
