Tray Paper Settings

This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper input, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Paper Input Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)

Specify the paper input to supply paper for output.

Default: [Paper Input Location 1]

Paper Input Priority: Printer (printer)

Specify the paper input to supply paper for output.

Default: [Paper Input Location 1]

Input Paper Size: Paper Input 1

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper input.

The paper sizes you can set for paper input 1 are as follows:

  • [Auto Detect]

  • A Series:

    A0 Width (841 mm), A1 Width (594 mm), A2 Width (420 mm), A3 Width (297 mm)

  • JIS B Series:

    B1 JIS Width(728mm), B2 JIS Width(515mm), B3 JIS Width(364mm)

  • Others:

    880 mm, 800 mm, 707 mm, 680mm, 660 mm, 625mm, 620mm, 490mm, 440 mm

  • Engineering:

    34 inch, 22 inch, 17 inch, 11 inch

  • Architecture:

    36 inch / 914 mm, 24 inch, 18 inch, 12 inch

  • Others:

    30 inch, 15 inch, 14 inch

Default: [Auto Detect]

Input Paper Size: Paper Input 2 (when paper input 2 is installed.)

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper input.

The paper sizes you can set for paper input 2 are as follows:

  • A Series:

    A0 Width (841 mm), A1 Width (594 mm), A2 Width (420 mm), A3 Width (297 mm)

  • JIS B Series:

Printer Bypass Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper loaded in the paper bypass when printing data from the computer.

The paper sizes you can set for the paper bypass are as follows:

  • A0Portrait, A1Portrait, A1Landscape, A2Portrait, A2Landscape, A3Portrait, A3Landscape, A4Landscape, B1 JISPortrait, B2 JISPortrait, B2 JISLandscape, B3 JISPortrait,

You can specify a custom size of between 210.0 - 2000.0 mm (8.27 - 78.74 inch) vertically, and between 279.4 - 914.4 mm (11.00 - 36.00 inch) horizontally.

Paper Type: Paper Bypass

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the paper bypass.

The paper types you can set for the paper bypass are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Inkjet Plain], [Translucent Paper], [Special Paper], [Film (Matte)], [Coated Paper], [Coated (CAD)]

The paper thicknesses you can set for the paper bypass are as follows:

  • [Thin Paper] (51 - 79 g/m2, 14 - 21 lb.Bond)

  • [Plain Paper] (80 - 94 g/m2, 21 - 25 lb.Bond)

  • [Middle Thick] (95 - 125 g/m2, 25 - 33 lb.Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 1] (126 - 190 g/m2, 34 - 51 lb. Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 2] (191 - 220 g/m2, 51 - 59 lb. cover)

Default for "Paper Type": [Do not Display]

Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper]

If [Recycled Paper], [Coated (CAD)], or [Translucent Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", [Middle Thick], [Thick Paper 1], and [Thick Paper 2] are not available.

If [Inkjet Plain] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thick Paper 1] and [Thick Paper 2] are not available.

If [Film (Matte)] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thick Paper 2] is not available.

Paper Type: Paper Input 1

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the paper input 1.

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper input.

The paper types you can set for the paper input 1 are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Inkjet Plain], [Translucent Paper], [Special Paper], [Film (Matte)], [Coated Paper], [Coated (CAD)]

The paper thicknesses you can set for the paper input 1 are as follows:

  • [Thin Paper] (51 - 79 g/m2, 14 - 21 lb.Bond)

  • [Plain Paper] (80 - 94 g/m2, 21 - 25 lb.Bond)

  • [Middle Thick] (95 - 125 g/m2, 25 - 33 lb.Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 1] (126 - 190 g/m2, 34 - 51 lb. Bond)

Default for "Paper Type": [Do not Display]

Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper]

Default for "Apply Auto Paper Select": [Yes]

If [Recycled Paper], [Coated (CAD)], or [Translucent Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", [Middle Thick] and [Thick Paper 1] are not available.

If [Inkjet Plain] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thick Paper 1] is not available.

The lock icon is displayed next to the paper input if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".

Under the copier function, "Apply Auto Paper Select" is only available when [Do not Display] or [Recycled Paper] is selected as a paper type.

Paper Type: Paper Input 2 (when paper input 2 is installed.)

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the paper input 2.

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper input.

The paper types you can set for the paper input 2 are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Inkjet Plain], [Translucent Paper], [Special Paper], [Film (Matte)], [Coated Paper], [Coated (CAD)]

The paper thicknesses you can set for the paper input 2 are as follows:

  • [Thin Paper] (51 - 79 g/m2, 14 - 21 lb.Bond)

Under the copier function, "Apply Auto Paper Select" is only available when [Do not Display] or [Recycled Paper] is selected as a paper type.

Sheet-dry Print Delay

Set the paper drying time to prevent image contamination due to undried ink.

Default: [0 sec]

The default time of this setting may be set for some paper in advance.
