Tray Paper Settings

This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Fax (facsimile)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Tray Paper Size: Tray 1

Select the size of the paper loaded in Tray 1.

The paper sizes you can set for Tray 1 are as follows:

A4Portrait, A5PortraitLandscape, A6Landscape, B5Portrait, B6Landscape, 81/2 × 11Portrait, 51/2 × 81/2Landscape, 16KPortrait

Tray Paper Size: Tray 2 (Tray 2 is displayed when the paper tray unit is installed.)

Select the size of the paper loaded in Tray 2.

The paper sizes you can set for Tray 2 are as follows:

A4Portrait, A5PortraitLandscape, B5Portrait, 81/2 × 11Portrait, 51/2 × 81/2Landscape, 16KPortrait

Printer Bypass Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper loaded in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.

The paper sizes you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0–297.0 mm (3.55–11.69 inches) vertically, and between 148.0–600.0 mm (5.83–23.62 inches) horizontally.

Paper Type: Bypass Tray

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.

The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

Paper Type: Tray 1–2 (Tray 2 is displayed when the paper tray unit is installed.)

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in Trays 1–2.

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.

The paper types you can set for Trays 1–2 are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Color Paper], [Letterhead], [Preprinted Paper], [Prepunched Paper], [Bond Paper], [Cardstock], [Special Paper]

The paper thicknesses you can set for Trays 1–2 are as follows:

  • [Plain Paper 1] (60–74 g/m2, 16–20 lb. Bond)

  • [Plain Paper 2] (75–81 g/m2, 20–22 lb. Bond)

  • [Middle Thick] (82–105 g/m2, 22–28 lb. Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 1] (106–135 g/m2, 28–36 lb. Bond) (Tray 2 only)

  • [Thick Paper 2] (136–162 g/m2, 36 lb. Bond–90 lb. Index) (Tray 2 only)

Default for "Paper Type": [Do not Display]

Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper 2]

Default for "Apply Duplex": [Yes]

Default for "Apply Auto Paper Select": [Yes]

The lock icon is displayed next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".
