Saving Energy

This machine has the following energy saving functions.

Sleep mode

If the machine remains inactive for a specified period, it enters Sleep mode to reduce the electricity it consumes. For details, see "System Settings", Connecting the Machine/System Settings.

The machine can print jobs from computers and receive faxes.

You can change the amount of time that the machine waits before switching to Sleep mode under [Sleep Mode]. For details, see "System Settings", Connecting the Machine/System Settings.

To exit Sleep mode, press any key on the control panel.

Note

  • The energy saving functions will not operate in the following cases:

    • During communication with external equipment

    • When a warning message appears

    • When the service call message appears

    • When paper is jammed

    • When the ADF, machine's cover, or ADF cover are opened.

    • When the "Add Toner" message appears

    • When toner is being replenished

    • When fixed warm-up is in progress

    • When data is being processed

    • When operations are suspended during printing

    • When the handset is in useRegion B icon(mainly North America)

    • When the On-hook dialing function is in use

    • If a file is waiting to be transmitted within the next minute using the "Send Later" facsimile function

    • When a recipient is being registered in the address list or group dial list

    • When the Data In indicator is on or blinking
