This section explains how to encrypt transmitted data and configure the administrator account. If you want a high level of security, make the following setting before using the machine.
Turn the machine on.
For details about turning on the main power, see "Turning On/Off the Power", Getting Started.
Display the initial settings screen.
When using the standard operation panel:
Press the [User Tools/Counter] key.
When using the Smart Operation Panel:
Press the [Home] key on the top left of the control panel. Flick the screen to the left, and then press the [User Tools] icon () on the Home screen 4.
Press [System Settings].
Press [Interface Settings].
Specify IPv4 Address.
For details on how to specify the IPv4 address, see "Interface Settings", Connecting the Machine/System Settings.
Press [File Transfer] in [System Settings].
Press [Administrator's Email Address], and then specify the e-mail address of the administrator of this machine.
Create and install the device certificate from the control panel.
For information on how to install the device certificate, see Protecting Communication Paths via a Device Certificate.
As the e-mail address for the device certificate, enter the address specified in Step 7.
Change the administrator's user name and password.

Connect the machine to the general usage network environment.
