How to print an error message

You can print Warning and/or Errors that have occurred after switching to RTIFF. If no such error has occurred, no error messages are printed.

Use the following procedures to print error messages:

To print an error message that has already occurred:

  • On the control panel of the machine, display the Printer Features screen, and print the Print Settings List (RTIFF) on the Test Print tab.

  • Use the summary print specification command to print the Print Settings List (RTIFF).

To print an error message on data to be sent:

  • Specify "On" for "Q. Print Error Message" on the RTIFF Menu, and then send the data in which an error occurs.

  • Specify the “errorprint” printing option, and then send the data.

Note

  • The error log is cleared when an error message is printed.

  • If the machine is set not to print an error message on the RTIFF Menu or in the printing options, and you change these settings to print an error message when an error occurs, error messages remaining in the error log are printed even if the data printed after the settings have been changed causes no error.

  • When RTIFF exits due to the machine being turned off or the printer language being switched to another, the error log is cleared even if an error message is not printed. If you have unintentionally cleared the error, send the data that causes the error again.

  • Error messages may be printed in the Configuration list or error log. For details about Configuration lists and error logs, see "List / Test Print", Print.
