This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.
If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.
Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Tray Paper Size: Tray 1
Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The paper sizes you can set for tray 1 are as follows:
A4, A5, B4 JIS, B5 JIS, 81/2 × 11, 51/2 × 81/2, 16K
(mainly Europe and Asia)
Default: [A4]
(mainly North America)
Default: [81/2 × 11]
Tray Paper Size: Tray 2-3
Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The paper sizes you can set for tray 2-3 are as follows:
A4, 81/2 × 14, 81/2 × 13, 81/2 × 11, 81/4 × 14, 81/4 × 13

Printer Bypass Paper Size
Specify the size of the paper loaded in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.
The paper sizes you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:
A4, A5, A5, B5 JIS, C5 Env, C6 Env,
DL Env, 81/2 × 14, 81/2 × 13, 81/2 × 11, 81/4 × 14,
81/4 × 13, 8 × 13, 71/4 × 101/2, 51/2 × 81/2, 51/2 × 81/2,
41/8 × 91/2, 37/8 × 71/2, 16K
[Custom Size]
(mainly Europe and Asia)
Default: [A4]
(mainly North America)
Default: [81/2 × 11]

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0 - 216.0 mm (3.55 -8.50 inch) vertically, and between 139.0 - 600.0 mm (5.48 - 23.62 inch) horizontally
Paper Type: Bypass Tray
Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.
The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:
[Plain Paper], [Recycled Paper], [Special Paper], [Colour Paper], [Letterhead], [Label Paper], [Preprinted Paper], [Bond Paper], [Cardstock], [Prepunched Paper], [OHP (Transparency)], [Thick Paper 1]
The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:
[Plain Paper] (60 - 90 g/m2, 16 - 24 lb.Bond)
[Middle Thick] (91 - 105 g/m2, 24 - 28 lb.Bond)
[Thick Paper] (106 - 157 g/m2, 28 - 40 lb. Bond)
Default for "Paper Type": [Plain Paper]
Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper]
If [Thick Paper 1] or [Label Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", only [Thick Paper] is available.
If you select [OHP (Transparency)], "Paper Thickness" is not available.

Paper Type: Tray 1-3
Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the tray 1-3.
The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.
The paper types you can set for the tray 1-3 are as follows:
[Plain Paper], [Recycled Paper], [Special Paper], [Colour Paper], [Letterhead], [Preprinted Paper], [Bond Paper], [Cardstock], [Prepunched Paper]
The paper thicknesses you can set for the tray 1-3 are as follows:
[Plain Paper] (60 - 90 g/m2, 16 - 24 lb.Bond)
Default for "Paper Type": [Plain Paper]
Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper]
Default for "Apply 2-sided": [Yes]
Default for "Apply Auto Paper Select": [Yes]
The key mark is displayed next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".
Under the copier function, "Apply Auto Paper Select" is only available when [Plain Paper] or [Recycled Paper] is selected as a paper type. "Apply Auto Paper Select" is unavailable when this setting or "Apply 2-sided" is set to [No].
