Installation Requirements After Moving the Machine
Leave adequate space around the machine to operate and clean the machine, load paper, and for service engineers to perform tasks.
Do not install or use this device in any area that does not have adequate ventilation as shown.

Rear: 80 cm (31.5 inches) or more
Right: 100 cm (39.4 inches) or more
Front: 100 cm (39.4 inches) or more
Left: 100 cm (39.4 inches) or more

For the required space around the machine when any option is attached, consult a service engineer.
Precautions for the Installation Environment of the Machine

- Be sure to install the machine as close as possible to a wall outlet so that you can disconnect the power cord plug easily in an emergency.

- Do not place the machine in a humid or dusty environment. Doing so can result in fire or electric shock.
- Do not place the machine on an unstable or tilted surface. Doing so can cause the machine to fall or topple over, possibly resulting in injury.
- After moving the machine, use the caster fixture to fix it in place. Otherwise, the machine might move or topple over to cause injury.
- Do not install or use this device in any area that does not have adequate ventilation as shown.

Keep the machine away from salt-bearing air and corrosive gases. Also, do not install the machine in places where chemical reactions are likely (laboratories, etc.), as doing so will cause the machine to malfunction.
If you are bothered by the sound that is emitted from the machine, we recommend that you place the machine in a room without people.
Do not move the machine to a location described below. Moving it to a location in an unsuitable environment may damage the machine or cause it to malfunction.
An area with extremely low or high temperature and humidity
The machine can be used in the following operational environment:
Temperature: 10–32°C (50–89.6ºF) (in 54% humidity at 32°C)
Humidity: 15–80% (in 80% humidity at 27°C)
The following is the recommended operational environment to maintain stable image quality:
Temperature: 15-25°C (59-77°F)
Humidity: 30-70% RH
An area subjected to direct sunlight
A location close to air conditioning equipment or humidifier
A location subjected to strong vibration
A confined or poorly ventilated room
A dusty environment
In the proximity of an oil heater or a device that produces ammonia such as a diazo copying machine
On an unstable floor or table
Place the machine on a floor so that the differences in its height at the front/back and right/left sides are less than the values below.
Left/right (±0.5 mm/M)
Front/back (±1 mm/M)
Place the machine on a firm and stable floor. When placing the machine on a table, select a firm and stable table that is designated for the machine only and larger than the size of the machine.
Precautions Regarding the Power Connection

- When using a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for this product, make sure that the output power is not insufficient. If the output power is insufficient, the UPS may smoke or catch fire. Read the UPS instructions and check the rated output power carefully when using it. If you have any questions, contact your Ricoh dealer.
- If you use a surge protector with this product, a part called a varistor inside the surge protector may deteriorate after long-term use, causing the surge protector to malfunction, smoke, or catch fire. Read the surge protector instructions carefully and use it correctly. If you have any questions, contact your Ricoh dealer.
Precautions When Handling the Power Plug and Cable

- Avoid taking the following actions because doing so can result in fire or electric shock:
Using any power supply voltage or frequencies other than those that match the specifications shown
Using multi-socket adaptors
Using extension cords
Touching the prongs of the power cable's plug with anything metallic
- Avoid applying the following actions to power cords because doing so can result in fire or electric shock:
Damaging them
Bundling them
Modifying them
Putting heavy objects on them
Pulling them forcibly
Bending them forcibly
- Do not handle the power cord plug with wet hands. Doing so can result in electric shock.
- If the machine behaves unusually as follows, turn off the power immediately. After turning off the power, make sure to disconnect the power cord plug from the wall outlet, and then contact your service representative and report the problem. Continuously using the power cord can result in fire or electric shock.
The machine is emitting smoke
The machine is emitting odors
Metal objects or other foreign objects have fallen inside the machine
Water or other fluids have fallen inside the machine
An error message is displayed that indicates that the machine has stopped due to high voltage
- To prevent fire or electric shock, disconnect the plug and the power cord from the wall outlet at least once a year and check them. If any of the following conditions exist, do not use the plug and the power cord continuously, and consult your dealer or service representative.
There are burn marks on the plug
The prongs on the plug are deformed
The power cord's inner wires are exposed or broken
The power cord's coating is cracked, dented, or damaged
When the power cord is bent, the power turns off and on
Part of the power cord becomes hot
- The supplied power cord or cords are for use with this machine only. They cannot be used for appliances other than this machine. Also, do not use power cords other than the power cord or cords supplied with this machine. Doing so can result in fire or electric shock.

- This machine uses two power cords. To stop the power supply to the machine completely, pull out both power plugs. When only one power plug is pulled out, electric shock can result.
- The capacity of the power source of this machine is 32 A and 4800 W for two cords combined. Connect each cord to separate power sources with independent breakers. If you connect to a wall outlet that is connected to the same breaker, the breaker may cut off power.
- When disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet, make sure to pull the plug, not the cord. Do not pull the power cord forcibly. Doing so can damage the power cord, possibly resulting in fire or electric shock.
- Be sure to push the power cord plug fully into the wall outlet. Also, do not push it into loose and unstable wall outlets likely to cause a contact failure. Doing so can result in heat generation.
- Be sure to disconnect the plug from the wall outlet and clean the prongs and the area around the prongs at least once a year. Allowing dust to build up on the plug constitutes a fire hazard.
- If you do not use the machine for a long period of time such as consecutive holidays, be sure to disconnect the power cord plug from the wall outlet for reasons of safety.
- When performing maintenance on the machine, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet for safety.
