Installing the Printer Driver for the Network Printer

To print from a client computer on a print server, add the network printer port, and then install the printer driver.

Installing the Printer Driver from the Downloaded File (Network Printer)

  1. Download the latest printer driver from the manufacturer's website.

  2. Double-click the downloaded file.

    • If the "Security Warning" screen is displayed, click [OK].

    • If the "User Account Control" screen is displayed, click [Yes] or [Allow].

  3. On the "End User License Agreement" screen, click [Agree and Go to Next].

  4. Select [Network], and then click [Next].

  5. Click [Click if you cannot find the device].

    • If the "Network Connection Error" screen is displayed, press [OK].

  6. Select [Specify device name], and then click [Next].

  7. Select the machine to use, and then click [Next].

  8. On the "Printer Preference" screen, click [Add Port].

  9. Select [Network Printer], and then click [OK].

  10. Select the network printer, and then click [OK].

  11. Confirm that the path to the printer to use is displayed in Port Name on the "Printer Preference" screen.

  12. Configure the settings under "Advanced Settings" as necessary, and then click [Next].
    Printer driver installation starts.
    For the PCL 6 driver, proceed to Step 15.

    • Consult your administrator whether the advanced settings are necessary.

  13. Click [Open Printer Properties].

  14. On the [Accessories] tab, confirm that the Options installed on the machine are selected, and then click [OK] [Next].

  15. When prompted to select whether to install Device Software Manager, select whether to install Device Software Manager.
    To install Device Software Manager select the [Install Device Software Manager] check box, and then click [Next]. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Device Software Manager.
    To not install Device Software Manager clear the [Install Device Software Manager] check box, and then click [Next].

  16. When installation is complete, click [Finish].
