This section describes the settings in the [PCL Menu] tab under [Printer Settings].

How to Use the "Settings"

Setting Items

Description

Orientation

You can specify the orientation of the paper.

  • Default: [Portrait]

Form Lines

You can specify the number of lines per page from 5 to 128.

Region A icon (mainly Europe and Asia)

  • Default: [64]

Region B icon (mainly North America)

  • Default: [60]

Font Source

You can set the storage location of the default font.

[RAM], [HDD], and [SD] can be selected only when fonts have been downloaded to the machine.

  • Default: [Resident]

Font Number

You can specify the font number of the font to use.

  • When [Font Source] is set to [Resident], specify from 0 to 103.

    • Default: [0]

  • When [Font Source] is set to [RAM], [HDD], or [SD], the number of fonts specified in this machine can be specified as the font number.

    • Default: [1]

Point Size

You can specify the point size of the font to use.

The point sizes can be specified from 4.00 to 999.75 in increments of 0.25. This setting is effective only for proportional fonts.

  • Default: [12.00 points]

Font Pitch

You can specify the pitch (character width) for the font to use.

The font pitch can be specified from 0.44 to 99.99 in increments of 0.01. This setting is effective only for monospaced fonts.

  • Default: [10.00 pitches]

Symbol Set

You can specify the character set of the selected font.

  • Default: [PC-8]

Nimbus Mono Font

You can specify the type of the Nimbus Mono font.

  • Default: [Regular]

Extend A4 Width

When you print on the A4 paper, you can specify whether to print from edge to edge of the printable paper size.

  • Default: [Off]

Append CR to LF

You can specify the operation of the machine when the CR, LF, or FF code is received.

When you specify [On], the machine operates as CR=CR, LF=CR+LF, or FF=CR+FF.

When you specify [Off], the machine operates as CR=CR, LF=LF, or FF=FF.

  • Default: [Off]

Resolution

You can specify the print resolution in dots per inch. You can select [300 dpi] or [600 dpi].

  • Default: [600 dpi]
