Configuring Access Permission for Each Stored File

This can be specified by the file administrator or owner.

Specify users and their access permissions for each stored file using a web browser from networked computers. (We use Web Image Monitor installed on this machine.)

Important

  • If files become inaccessible, reset their access permission as the owner. The file administrator can reset access permission. If you want to access a file but do not have access permission, ask the owner.

  • The file administrator can change the owner of a document using the document's [File Details] setting. This setting also allows the file administrator to change the access privileges of the owner and other users.

  • The document owner and users with the [Full Control] privilege for the document can change the access privileges of the owner and other users under the [File Details] setting.

1Open a web browser from a networked computer, and then log in to Web Image Monitor as the file administrator or the owner.

For details on how to log in, see Administrator Login Method.

2Point to [Print Job/Stored File], and then click [Printer: Print Jobs].

3Click the Details icon details icon of the Stored Print file for which you want to specify the access permission.

4Click [Change] for "Access Privilege".

5Display the users and/or groups whose access permission you want to specify, and then specify the appropriate permission.

Select the access permission from [Read-only], [Edit], [Edit/Delete], or [Full Control].

You can specify the access permission for multiple users and groups.

The access permission specified in "All Users" will be applied to all users.

6Click [OK].

7Log out.

For details about logging out, see Administrator Logout Method.

Note

  • The "Edit", "Edit / Delete", and "Full Control" access permissions allow a user to perform high-level operations that could result in loss of or changes to sensitive information. We recommend you assign only the "Read-only" permission to general users.
