Configuring a Print Server

This section explains how to configure the printer as a Windows network printer. The printer is configured to enable use by network clients.

To change printer properties in the [Printer properties] window, log in to the file server as an administrator or member of the PowerUsers group.

On the [Start] menu, click [Settings], then click [Devices].

Click [Printers & Scanners], and then click the icon of the printer you want to use.

Click [Manage], and then click [Printer properties].

On the [Sharing] tab, click [Share this printer].

To share the printer with users of a different version of Windows, click [Additional Drivers...].

If you have installed an alternative driver by selecting [Shared] during the printer driver installation, this step can be ignored.

Click [OK], and then close the printer properties.
