When an Error Is Reported in a Report

The machine notifies the user when a malfunction or error occurs via a report as described below.

Type

Cause

Error report

Communication could not be established normally because of noise on the telephone line or a malfunction occurring on the machine or the fax device at the destination.

Power off report

Documents stored in the memory have been deleted because power to the machine was interrupted as a result of a power outage or a bad electrical contact in the power plug.

Error Report

  • "User Name" shows the sender name.

  • Check "Destination" and send the fax again.

  • "Mode" shows "Receive" if an error occurred during reception. Request the sender to send the document again.

Power Off Report

  • "Time" shows the time when the document was stored in the memory.

  • If "Transmission Condition" shows Memory Transmission and "Result" shows an error or stand-by, check the description in "Destination" and send the document again.

  • If "Transmission condition" shows Memory Reception or Substitute Reception, and "Result" shows an error, ask the sender to send the document again.

Note

  • The report may not show the line type of the destination depending on various conditions, such as the duration of the power outage.
