General Settings

Application Authentication

You can specify whether or not to enable authentication for each application.

Printer, Extended Features 1 to 3

Default: [On]

  • On

  • Off

Note

  • [Printer] appears only when you have logged in as the machine administrator.

  • [Extended Features 1] to [Extended Features 3] appear only when Extended Features are started. For details, see "Starting an extended feature from a web browser", Extended Feature Settings.

Recycled Paper Setting

You can specify the thickness of the recycled paper.

For details about the actual paper weight, see "Recommended Paper", Specifications.

Trays 1 to 4, Bypass Tray

Color Paper Setting

You can specify the thickness of the color paper.

Letterhead Setting

You can specify the thickness of the letterhead paper.

Envelope Setting

You can specify the thickness of the envelope.

Preprinted Paper Setting

You can specify the thickness of the preprinted paper.

The paper thickness can be set for each tray separately.

Display IP Address

You can specify whether or not to display the IPv4 address and host name of the machine. This parameter appears only when you have logged in as the machine administrator.

Replacement Alert

You can specify when the Alert Indicator lights up to prompt users to replace supplies.

Print Cartridge

Default: [Notify Later]

Supply End Option

You can specify whether or not to continue printing after the drum unit exceeds its service life.

You can specify whether or not the amount of toner is displayed on the initial screen.

Menu Protect

You can specify whether or not to protect the menu settings. If you enable this setting, you must specify a protection level.

If you want to lower the protection level, disable this setting or select [Level 1].

This parameter appears only when you have logged in as the machine administrator.

List/Test Print Lock

You can specify whether or not to prohibit List/Test printing.

This parameter appears only when you have logged in as the machine administrator.

Paper Size Confirmation

You can specify whether or not the confirmation screen of the paper size is displayed when the tray paper size and the size of the fed paper do not match.

Default: [Display]

    The confirmation screen is displayed and the print job is suspended.

  • Do not Display

    The confirmation screen is not displayed and the print job completes. However, some of the print job data may not be printed.

Unit of Measure

You can switch the unit of measurement between [mm] and [inch].

Default:

Panel Key Sound

You can specify whether or not to enable the panel key sound.

Display Contrast

You can specify the display density by selecting one of seven levels.

Key Repeat

You can specify whether or not to scroll the display panel when the [Up arrow key] or [Down arrow key] key is held down. When you enable this setting, specify the scroll speed. (If repeat time is set to "Long", scroll speed becomes slow.)

Compatible ID

You can enable or disable the Compatible ID setting.

If this setting is set to [Active], you can install the printer driver automatically by connecting a computer to the machine via USB or network.

Tray Parameters (PCL)

You can configure settings to change paper tray parameters used for PCL printing. You can specify the settings for the installed trays and the Auto Tray Select function.
