Enabling Pattern Printing

Using a web browser from networked computers, you can enable embedded pattern printing to discourage or prevent unauthorized copying. (We use Web Image Monitor installed on this machine.)

1Open a web browser from a networked computer, and then log in to Web Image Monitor as the machine administrator.

For details on how to log in, see Administrator Login Method.

2Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].

3Click [Unauthorized Copy Prevention: Printer] under "Device Settings".

4Select [On] for "Unauthorized Copy Prevention Setting".

5In "Compulsory Unauthorized Copy Prevention", select whether to set the embedded pattern using the printer driver or the machine's control panel.

  • [Driver/Command]

You can specify all embedded pattern settings using the printer driver.

  • [Driver/Command (Most Settings)]

You can use the printer driver to specify all embedded pattern settings except for the type and density of the embedded pattern.

  • [Machine Setting(s)]

You cannot specify embedded pattern settings by the printer driver. The embedded pattern specified using the machine's control panel will be printed.

6Click [OK].

7Log out.

For details about logging out, see Administrator Logout Method.

Note

  • For details of other embedded pattern settings, see Web Image Monitor Help.
