Creating and Installing a Device Certificate (Self-Signed Certificate)
Create and install the device certificate using a web browser from networked computers. (We use Web Image Monitor installed on this machine.)
This section explains the use of a self-signed certificate as the device certificate.
Open a web browser from a networked computer, and then log in to Web Image Monitor as the network administrator.
For details on how to log in, see Administrator Login Method.
Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].
Click [Device Certificate] under "Security".
Check the radio button next to the number of the certificate you want to create.
To use SSL/TLS, select [Certificate1]. To use any other protocol, select the certificate number you want to use.
Click [Create].
Click [Delete] to delete the device certificate from the machine.
Configure the necessary settings.
For details about the displayed items and selectable items, see Web Image Monitor Help.
Click [OK].
The setting is changed.
Click [OK].
If a security warning message appears, check the details, and then select "Continue to this website".
"Installed" appears under "Certificate Status" to show that a device certificate for the machine has been installed.
Log out.
For details about logging out, see Administrator Logout Method.
