Logging In/Out Using the Control Panel

This section explains the procedure for logging in to the machine when Basic Authentication, Windows Authentication, or LDAP Authentication is set.

When User Code Authentication is active, see User Code Authentication Using a Printer Driver.

Important

  • To prevent use of the machine by unauthorized persons, always log out when you have finished using the machine.

Logging In Using the Control Panel

1Press the [Menu] key.

2Press the selection key beneath [Login].

3Press the selection key beneath [Enter].

4Press the [Up arrow key] , [Down arrow key] , [Left arrow key] or [Right arrow key] key to select the user name, and then press the [OK] key to enter it.

5Press the selection key beneath [Accept].

6Press the selection key beneath [Enter].

7Press the [Up arrow key] , [Down arrow key] , [Left arrow key] or [Right arrow key] key to select a password, and then press the [OK] key to enter it.

8Press the selection key beneath [Accept].

Logging Out Using the Control Panel

1Press the [Menu] key.

2Press the selection key beneath [Logout].

3Press the selection key beneath [Yes].

Important

  • If authentication fails, the “Authentication failed.” message appears. Check that the Login User Name and Login Password are correct.
