Programming the LDAP Server

This section describes how to specify the LDAP server settings.

The descriptions related to the following settings are intended for Type 1, 2 and 3 machines.

This function supports LDAP version 2.0 and 3.0.

Program the LDAP server to find e-mail destinations in the LDAP server Address Book directly.

This function is possible when sending scan files by e-mail using the scanner function.

To start an LDAP search, make sure to specify the following items. For other items, check your environment and make any necessary changes.

If [Kerberos Authentication] is selected, specify "User Name", "Password", and "Realm Name".

If [Digest Authentication] or [Cleartext Authentication] is selected, specify "User Name" and "Password".

To use the LDAP server in Administrator Tools, select [On] under "LDAP Search".

Only LDAP version 3.0 supports Digest Authentication.

To select Kerberos Authentication, a realm must be registered in advance. For details, see Programming the Realm.
