Carry out the following sequence of procedures. Terminate the sequence as soon as the problem is resolved.
Procedure 1: Specifying the area to be adjusted
Measure by a ruler or other device the length (in mm) of the area from the trailing edge of the paper where the print is faint or dense.
In [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper, specify the area to apply the paper transfer current at the trailing edge of the paper values.
<Printing in black and white>
Select [Trailing Edge Length] of [BW] in 1217: [Paper Transfer Output Correction: Paper Edge], and then enter the value which is 10 mm higher than the value measured in Step 1.
<Printing in full color>
Select [Trailing Edge Length] of [FC] in 1217: [Paper Transfer Output Correction: Paper Edge], and then enter the value which is 10 mm higher than the value measured in Step 1.
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Finished! |
No | Go to the next step. |
In [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper, select 1217: [Paper Transfer Output Correction: Paper Edge], and then make a note of the following values:
<Printing in black and white>
[Trailing Edge] of [BW]
[Trailing Edge: AC] of [BW]
<Printing in full color>
[Trailing Edge] of [FC]
[Trailing Edge: AC] of [FC]
Decrease these values by 10 percentage points.
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Restore the previous setting changed in Step 5, and then perform "(b) Decreasing the paper transfer output correction value". |
No | Restore the previous setting changed in Step 5, and then perform "(c) Increasing the paper transfer output correction value". |
(b) Decreasing the paper transfer output correction value
In [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper, select 1217: [Paper Transfer Output Correction: Paper Edge], and then decrease the value of the following settings by 5 percentage points.

[Trailing Edge: AC] of [BW]
<Printing in full color>
[Trailing Edge] of [FC]
[Trailing Edge: AC] of [FC]
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Finished! |
No | Repeat Steps 1 and 2. If the problem persists even though you have decrease the value to "-10", contact your service representative. |
(c) Increasing the paper transfer output correction value
In [Advanced Settings] for the custom paper, select 1217: [Paper Transfer Output Correction: Paper Edge], and then increase the value of the following settings by 5 percentage points.

[Trailing Edge: AC] of [BW]
<Printing in full color>
[Trailing Edge] of [FC]
[Trailing Edge: AC] of [FC]
Print the image. Has the problem been resolved?
Yes | Finished! |
No | Repeat Steps 1 and 2. If the problem persists even though you have increase the value to "10", contact your service representative. |
