To prevent other users from viewing the contents of your prints, you can configure the machine so that it does not start printing until you are physically present at the machine and enter your password using the machine's control panel or Web Image Monitor.
This feature is not available for applications that use proprietary drivers such as PageMaker.

Open the document to print.
Select [Print...] on the [File] menu.
Select the machine you are using in the [Printer:] pop-up menu.
Click [Job Log] in the pop-up menu.
Click [Locked Print] in the [Job Type:] pop-up menu.
Enter user ID in the [User ID:] box using up to 8 alphanumeric characters.
Enter the password in the [Password:] box.
You can use 4 to 8 digits for the password.
Print the document using the print function in the default application of the original.
The original is not printed at this time. It is stored in the machine.
Enter the password using the machine's control panel, and print the original.
