Unpacking

To protect it from shock and vibration during transit, this machine comes packaged in cushioning foam and secured with tape. Remove the protective materials after placing the machine in the location where it will be installed.

WARNING


  • The following explains the warning messages on the plastic bag used in this product's packaging.

    • Keep the polythene materials (bags, gloves, etc.) supplied with this machine away from babies and small children at all times. Suffocation can result if polythene materials are brought into contact with the mouth or nose.

CAUTION


  • The machine weighs approximately 41.5 kg (91.5 lb.).

  • When moving the machine, hold the handles located on both sides, and then lift it slowly. Lifting it carelessly or dropping it may cause an injury.

Important

  • The removed tape is sticky. Be careful not to let the sticky side touch your skin or clothes.

  • Do not grip the tray area when lifting the machine.

  • Make sure that paper clips, staples, or other small metallic objects do not fall inside the machine.

1Remove the plastic bag.

2Lift the machine with two people by using the inset grips on both sides of the machine.

Lower the machine slowly and carefully to prevent getting your hands stuck.

Be sure two people lift the machine.

When moving the machine, do not hold the following parts. Doing so may cause them to break.

  • The handle on the standard paper tray

  • The underside of the bypass tray

  • ADF

3Remove the tape on the outside of the machine.

4While pressing and holding the bypass tray open lever in the upper center of the bypass tray, pull the tray open.

5Remove the tape.

6Close the bypass tray.

7Open the ADF, and then remove the protective materials.

8Pull the top cover open lever upward to open the top cover.

9Remove the cushioning material and print cartridges.

10Remove the tape.

11Return the print cartridges to its original position.

12Close the top cover with both hands carefully.

13Remove the protective film from the LCD.
