Human Detection Sensor

The Human Detection Sensor is on the right side of the machine. If it is enabled and the machine detects a person approaching it, the machine enters Sleep mode automatically. If the sensor remains disabled for a specified period, the machine enters Sleep mode. For details, see "System Settings", Connecting the Machine/System Settings.

Note

  • The machine enters Stand-by mode in the following cases:

    • When the Human Detection Sensor detects the changes of the environmental conditions or any movement of a person, even when a person does not stand in front of the sensor.

    • When the sensor is exposed to air flows, direct sunlight, or strong electromagnetic waves.

  • The machine does not enter Sleep mode in the following cases:

    • While the Human Detection Sensor detects the changes of the environmental conditions or any movement of a person, even when a person does not stand in front of the sensor.

    • When the sensor is exposed to strong electromagnetic waves.

  • The machine enters Fusing Unit Off mode even if a person stands by the machine when:

    • [Fusing Unit Off Mode (Energy Saving) On/Off] is set to [Off]

    • [Exit Fusing Unit Off Mode] is set to [On Printing]

    • Either of the following screens is displayed

      • Copy

      • Copier(Classic)

      • A screen other than Counter, Maintenance, or Inquiry
