This machine can forward received documents to other destinations programmed in this machine.
To use this function, specify the forwarding destination in advance. You can register the fax, IP-Fax, Internet Fax, e-mail, or folder destination as a forwarding destination. See Reception File Settings.
You can also configure the machine to forward received documents to a particular destination according to the sender. To do this, register the sender as a special sender and specify the forwarding destination for each sender in [Program Special Sender] on the Fax Features menu. Documents received with Memory Lock and transfer requests are not forwarded to other parties.
User Parameters (switch 37, bit 4) allows you to include the sender's name in the names of files sent to folders. However, garbling of the file name and data loss can result if the receiver's operating system cannot accept certain characters in file names. To prevent this, use User Parameters (switch 37, bit 5) to limit the file names to plain characters only. If you limit file names to plain characters only but errors still occur, disable display of the sender's name in the file name of documents forwarded to folders. For details, see Parameter Settings.
Using the User Parameters (switch 38, bit 7–0 and switch 39, bit 7–0) on the Fax Features menu, you can specify the number of fax resend attempts and the interval between them. These settings become useful when the receiver is a folder destination and the connection to the destination computer fails. For details, see Parameter Settings.
When the destination specified as a forwarding destination is updated using the central address book management function, the spooled documents are forwarded to the following destinations:
When the destination is specified as a fax, IP-Fax, Internet Fax, or e-mail destination, the documents are forwarded to the destination before updating.
When the destination is specified as a folder destination, the documents are forwarded to the destination after updating.
