Changing the Default Functions of the Initial Screen

This section explains how to set defaults for the initial screen, which appears when the machine is turned on or when settings are cleared or reset.

The following settings can be registered as defaults:

Standard Applications

  • Copy

    Density, Reduce/Enlarge, Quantity, Paper Tray, 2 Sided, Combine, Sort, Original Size, Original Type, Batch, Other Settings

  • Fax:

    Preview, Settings

  • Scanner

    Preview, Send Settings

Quick Applications

  • Quick Copy:

    Density, Paper Tray, Quantity, Reduce/Enlarge, 2 Sided, Combine, Staple, Punch, Original Orientation

  • Quick Fax:

    Density, Resolution, Original Orientation, Original Sides, Scan Size, Original Type, Preview, Stamp

  • Quick Scanner:

    Original Type, File Type, Resolution, Original Orientation, Original Sides, Scan Size, Preview

Classic Applications

  • Copier (Classic):

    Original type, density, Original Settings, paper tray, Store File (except for User Name, File Name, Password, and Target Folder to Store), Auto Reduce / Enlarge, Create Margin, Finishing, Cover/Slip Sheet, Edit / Stamp, Dup./Combine/Series, Reduce / Enlarge, number of copies

  • Document Server:

    • Initial document print screen

      2 Sided Copy Top to Top, 2 Sided Copy Top to Bottom, Booklet, Magazine, Finishing, Cover/Slip Sheet (except for Main Sheet Tray in Designate / Chapter), Edit / Stamp, number of prints

    • Initial scan original screen

      Original type, density, Original Settings, paper tray, Auto Reduce / Enlarge, Create Margin, Edit / Stamp, Dup./Combine/Poster, Reduce / Enlarge

  • Fax (Classic):

    Scan Settings, density, Original Feed Type, File Type, Store File (except for User Name, File Name, and Password), Preview, transmission type, Select Line, memory transmission/immediate transmission, Communi. Result Rep., TX Mode (except for Subject), SMTP

  • Scanner (Classic):

    Scan Settings, density, Original Feed Type, Send File Type / Name (except for Security Settings and Start No.), Store File (except for User Name, File Name, Password, and Target Folder to Store), Preview, Text, Subject, Security, Recept. Notice, File Emailing Method

This section explains how to change the default functions of the initial screen.

Standard Applications/Quick Applications

1Specify settings you require on the initial [Copy], [Fax], [Scanner], [Quick Copy], [Quick Fax], or [Quick Scanner] screen.

2Press [Menu] (Operation panel screen illustration) at the bottom of the screen in the center.

3Press [Set Current Setting as Default].

When using the quick application, press [Set Current Setting as Def. Settg.].

To restore the factory default settings on the initial screen, press [Reset Def. Setting to Factory Def.]. Press [Restore], and then press [Exit].

4Press [Program].

5Press [Exit].

Classic Applications

1Specify settings you require on the initial [Copier (Classic)], [Document Server], [Fax (Classic)], or [Scanner (Classic)] screen.

When using the Document Server, specify the settings on the initial document print screen or initial scan original screen.

2Press [Recall/Program/Change Program] on the bottom left of the screen.

3Press [Program as Defaults].

4Press [Program].

To restore the factory default settings on the initial screen, press [Restore Factory Defaults], and then press [Yes].

5Press [Yes].

Note

  • When you are using the Classic Applications, the default settings can be programmed separately for the normal and simple screens.
