Administrator Tools

This describes the parameters that can be set on [Administrator Tools].

Service Test Call

You can make a test call to the @Remote center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Notify Machine Status] or [Remote Diagnostics] is in use.

Notify Machine Status

You can send notification of the printer's status to the @Remote center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Service Test Call] or [Remote Diagnostics] is in use.

Remote Diagnostics

You can send a request to repair the printer to the service center. This function is available only if the @Remote service is enabled and active. This function is unavailable when [Service Test Call] or [Notify Machine Status] is in use.

Firmware Version

You can display the firmware version of the printer.

Fixed USB Port

Specifies whether the same printer driver can be used for multiple printers or not under USB connection.

Default: [Off]

  • On

    The same printer driver you have installed in your computer can be used with any printer other than the one originally used for installation, if the printer is of the same model.

  • Off

    You must install the printer driver separately for individual printers, because the printer other than the original will be recognized as a new device upon USB connection.

Reset All Settings

You can reset the printer settings to their factory defaults. Be sure to turn off and then on the main power of the printer to make the setting effective.

  • Reset Network Settings

    You can reset the network settings of the printer to their factory defaults.

Time Zone

You can specify the time zone by entering the time difference between your local time zone and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). You can enter a value between -1440 and +1440 minutes.

User Restriction

You can specify whether or not to restrict the control panel operation by setting a password. Even if this feature is enabled, it is not necessary to enter the password when printing from a computer or clearing errors.

When [Ready State After Printing] is set to [Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)], you can specify whether or not the printer resumes Sleep mode immediately after exiting Energy Saver mode.

Default: [Immediate]

  • Immediate

    The printer resumes Sleep mode immediately after printing, regardless of the Sleep Mode Timer settings.

  • After Time Set by Tmr Ends

    The printer resumes Sleep mode after the time specified in Sleep mode elapses.

Ready State After Printing

You can specify how the printer operates when it receives print jobs in Sleep mode.

Default: [Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)]

  • Control Panel On

    The printer turns on the control panel and prints received jobs.

  • Cntrl Panel Off (EngySavg)

    The printer prints received jobs but the control panel remains off.
