When you cannot place the original in a readable orientation (Operation panel screen illustration) as noted above, such as when you copy A3Portrait or 11 × 17Portrait size originals, or if you are copying an original that is folded or wrinkled, select the orientation of the original as follows.

  • 90 Degrees Counterclockwise (Operation panel screen illustration)

Select this mode when you set the original rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise. For example, set the original in the ADF with its upper side to the left.

  • 180 Degrees (Operation panel screen illustration)

Select this mode when you set the original rotated 180 degrees. For example, set the original in the ADF with its upper side to the front.

  • 90 Degrees Clockwise (Operation panel screen illustration)

Select this mode when you set the original rotated 90 degrees clockwise. For example, set the original on the ADF with its upper side to the right.

You will not get the printing result you expect unless you set the correct orientation for the original, especially if you want to set the staple or combine functions.
